I've been donating to cancer research charities every month for the past 2 years or so and for anyone who has a few extra pounds or dollars lying around each month then it's always worth looking in to.
UK- http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/
Fuck cancer and together it will be beaten. Let's just make that sooner rather than later everyone. I'm not sure what the main research charities are in the USA, Europe and Asia, but if anyone could post a link then please do.
Thanks.
My coping mechanism has been to just dive into the business end of it.
I wrote a long post on tumblr about where I think Nintendo's going and at the end of the exhaustive process of writing it, I felt better.
People are going to cope in different ways. For me it was to engage in shop talk.
I highly suggest playing Earthbound in a group of some kind.
The game can get...obtuse, certainly. But the most fun I had streaming it was people sharing Earthbound memories, saying "I can't wait until he gets to that next part!", etc.
It's a community game in a lot of ways. Also there's a reason they gave you a strategy guide with it.
Everyone needs to play Dreamland 3. I beat it last week and it's such a joy due to the ost and small things like the animations the animal buddies make. The game is just adorable and the level design is fun with objectives for each stage. Animal Friends add some variety to the powers too. Game looks amazing with it's artstyle as well, the amount of animation put into things is amazing for an snes game. Love the reaction of other animals when they don't get picked as the animal you want, they all get upset and jealous. It's sad to find out that I played both Kirby Dreamland 2 and 3 leading up to Iwatas death, not knowing til now the huge role he had in those games.
This sucks, it makes me pretty sad that the online reaction to his last Direct at E3 was so negative. Didn't he even tweet an apology about it basically?
I mean that Direct was bad, and it seems like no one knew how ill he was, but still...
Incase anyone has missed it, some of us have been voting for Balloon Fighter to be playable in Smash Bros. in memory of Mr. Iwata.

All speculation but he did send other guys to do the directs for him recently and skipped E3 too. It seems to me that the cancer got problematic again mid of this year. Thats probably why he skipped those public events.Rewatching the 4/1/15 Nintendo Direct, Iwata was looking pretty good. The Nintendo Direct Mini before E3 and the E3 Digital Event didn't have Iwata, but Iwata decided to release an updated version of his Mii to reflect his weight loss from his illness. Images of Iwata from the investor conference shows his health deteriorated significantly since April. I dunno, I think prior to April and maybe even mid June he thought he was on his way to recovery or that he had a significant amount of time left and this came on pretty suddenly
Will you make a thread for this? I think it should have exposure. I cast my vote.Incase anyone has missed it, some of us have been voting for Balloon Fighter to be playable in Smash Bros. in memory of Mr. Iwata.

Playing Kirby's Dream Land and Balloon Fight in the wake of all this, however, have provided much comfort, particularly the latter (it's amazing how butter-smooth the game's controls are 30 years later).

Done and done. Is there a larger movement for this or just the forum?Incase anyone has missed it, some of us have been voting for Balloon Fighter to be playable in Smash Bros. in memory of Mr. Iwata.

I havent seen any pictures of him doing the shareholders conference. are there even any pictures floating around? In any case thats probably an event he couldnt skip (unless admitting that he is not fit for the job)
I don't mind at all, thanks!I gotta say this is my favorite piece of art in this thread. I hope you don't mind that I'm gonna use it as a phone wallpaper. It's beautiful as it is.

I heard Iwata's funeral will be the 17th, which is my birthday, so I had requested off from work that day. I think I'll spend most of it playing Earthbound for the first time myself.
Look at how much joy he got out of delivering this line: https://youtu.be/IMedqo8mLaQ?t=5m45s
People were posting this image:
but I just looked into it and it's from a Kotaku article from last year. I dunno if we have any images of him taken after April 2015, but he looked better in April than he does in that image.
