SCEE event on May 6th ¿SCEE gamers day?

Huh? That doesn't even make sense.
Well I don't know, but personally I'd appreciate it, letting us some time to actually do a good job with all the footage we'll get there instead of just encoding it as fast as possible.

Well i'm just saying that we know that we'll be getting some media from R2 so if there are embargos it's not going to be for everything.

IIRC last year's embargo was about everything there.

I don't know this for a fact, but I'd suspect that since SCEA's Gamers Day isn't until a week from Friday that Sony may embargo coverage of the European Gamer's Day until that Friday or the following week.

Note the bold mark. That, and there is no SCEA Gamers Day. Tomorrow is SCEA + SCEE Gamer Days

It was. But only for 24/48 hours or so.

It seems to me that we will have the press conference either streamed or live blogged in some way with an revelations or announcements 'delivered' as live.

And perhaps the journalists attending will have to keep their 'impressions' of the game they play at the event until after our American cousins have had a chance to play the games as well.

Seems like an awfully big event to simply having 'sitting on a shelf for a week'.

Didn't Sony themselves already confirm key note material and so on to be uploaded to PSN on Thursday?

There is no parallel SCEA "Gamers Day" next week. It's something kinda different (pre-E3 related) and will most likely have nothing to do with the SCEE event.

I have no idea if the info from the SCEE event has any type of embargo though.

SPILL IT.

EDIT-And I'd let Sophia Howard PEE on me.

I wonder if Sony will try and emulate the success of their Killzone 'press only' E3 teaser video from last year with something similar for another 'AAA' title.

They could show it behing closed doors at this Playstation Day event and then screen it for the US press at this 'pre E3' event.

Perhaps SCE-WWS will show a very short teaser for the Team Ico project to the press before the big reveal at E3 during their conference.

*adjusts tin foil hat*

Just a thought.

That one likely will be embargoed. From what we've heard SCEE's Gamers Day is for games being released this year. If the SCEA show is a pre E3 sort of thing as Jim said then it'll likely be about games coming out next year and so on.

Agreed. I think this will be like last year's event at this time.

We'll see some PSN titles and the like with the 'big guns' being kept for their E3 conference.

But in saying that, last year's Gamer's Day gave us our first real look at Uncharted, and the announcements of SOCOM:Confrontation and Pain.

It'll undoubtedly show most of the same stuff, but it's different in scope than the SCEE event supposedly, and it's not a "Gamers Day".

Most if not all of the upcoming info on 2008 releases will come from the SCEE event, with the next batch of stuff coming from the E3.

Haven't really been keeping up, but has it been announced at what time this shit will start (GMT+1 time that is)?

Don't expect to see anything new on the Killzone 2 front, its not gonna make it out this year. New internal target is March '09.

It's the entire 08 lineup, which means no InFamous since the game wont be out this year.

no killzone 2 guys.......
wrong

Now the question is: Will Killzone 2 be released this year?

Place your bets on the date of your choice gentlemen. :D

No time has been announced, but I'm guessing around 11am.

I think the actual streamed press conference won' start until 6pm or so to allow for the US 'audience'.

I'm fairly sure that Microsoft's 'X' events had a similar approach when they were held in Europe.

Considering the event is supposed to be for 2008 titles....

But then again, that didn't stop them from showing a lot of projects last year that won't be out for some time.

I wouldn't be surprised if another Home delay is announced.

At this point I could care less if Home is delayed as long as that doesn't mean they will delay In-Game XMB.

Quite honestly I wouldn't loose any sleep if they cancelled Home completely. They need to focus.

Regarding the embargo, I thought they would update PSN twice this week, tomorrow and thursday. What gives?

There is no embargo on the event. Only some stuff, like Resistance 2 video. Just rampant speculation on Kotaku's part.

Doubt it. Smells like a 2009 release with a late 2008 MP beta.

So about 13 - 14hrs away from the start?

Since its 8am may 6th AUS time and the UK is .. 10hrs behind? Or 11, something like that.

I think the only embargo right now is on the time that this event will start. >_> The question has been asked many times and no one seems to know.
