SCEE event on May 6th ¿SCEE gamers day?

I almost forgat about the online spy MMO thing, the Agency.

Probably cos it's forgettable.

It's the saving grace to that genre as far as i'm concerned. It's nice to see someone actually trying to do something different than the same repetitious dungeons and dragon crap with semi real time battle systems.

Yo WTF man!!!! You got the Limited Edition while i got the Collector's Edition. Man, now im gonna have to spend another 50+ Euro looking for that one :(

Anyways i hope they release a LE or CE here in the states cuz im a big fan.

Also does anyone here have KZ1 pics without that filter they added later on? It looked like a hirez PC game when i saw them like years ago.

If Sony/Konami don't announce a Limited Edition MGS4 release for Europe... the whole event fails!

Resistance 2 + Killzone 2 will ease the pain tho.

Well, the press release does say a new franchise, which to me implies multiple games. An MMO is a pretty big undertaking, if it does well there really aren't extra games required.

Just speculating, but in the new egm they listed all the multi platform games, then mentioned GTA MMO without giving a console or PC listing.

Just remember people that what is announced on stage is only a small part of what will eventually come out of the event.
The trolls and asshats will be in full effect tonight I am sure.

The thing I'm most looking forward to out of this is the firing of the Incompetent David Reeves.

That would probably be the best thing that could happen tomorrow. Sony Europe's continued success in Europe during the hardware transition has made them lazy, complacent and neglectful of their customer base.

Don't be like that!! David Reeves is the only opportunity to get juicy infos before the time.
With Reeves on board something like this could happen tomorrow during the conference:

"Kaz: As you can see, we have LOTS of things in store, and many more to come which will be announced in the upcoming months!
Reeves; Yeah you said it Kaz!! As that Psthree in Oct....
Kaz: WHAAAT? What did you just say?"

And BTW, Europe is Sony's first market at this point, at least relatively to the PS3 so Kaz can't touch him.

So how many hours before something potentially awesome could come from this event?

No one really knows when it starts it seems :lol . Could be another 8 hours (9 a.m GMT).

Anyone want to step up to the plate and create an official thread which will have a constantly updated OP throughout the duration of the event?

I would do it except I'll surely be too busy at work.

There's been a delay with the announcement of the time. it's the "Don't wait and be surprised" time. This is Europe ;3

Uh-oh. Does this kind of things happen often in Europe ?

I would like to see something from WKC though, just to be assured that it's pretty far along, although I doubt Sony Japan would have any kind of serious reveal until close to the title's release.

then it won't be purrfection anymore little witty

Sony Japan is apparently going to have their own show so i'd expect to see WKC there. This was from SamBishop not too long ago

Just for clarification, yes, this is fairly equivalent to Gamers Day here in the US in that SCEI actually starts cranking up dem dere hype wagons, though I don't think the scale is anywhere near as equal to what's happening this and last year here locally.

What's interesting is that of course this year is the Kaz Parade for the first time, and I wouldn't doubt in the least that the so-called "momentum" that the PS3 has right now is due in no small part to the machinations of one Mr. Hirai. I don't think Sony expected to perform like they did vs. other systems this early into the year, but I've little doubt that they've whipped up a fairly steady string of reveals going into at least the middle of this year.

I know for a fact that Gamers Day is going to have some serious shit with which the US 1st party departments will throw down (historically 2nd and 3rd parties dig having the platform to do the same), and then of course there's E3. Then there's Games Convention as that's become the Euro-centric base for stuff. That's a few solid months of talking about stuff that will hit this year, yes, but also reveals of what's to come in '09.

If there's one thing Sony is good at, it's baiting people with teases of what's to come. It's one of the main areas where the competition could learn a little, though of course one runs the risk of CG trailergate a la E3 '05. Needless to say, though, Sony hasn't been sitting around; they've got a TON of stuff to show off for the rest of the year and into the next.

Any good PR plan staggers these announcements throughout the early part of the year to build hype while other companies sprinkle their respective announcements into the mix to create pockets of interest. I can honestly say we haven't seen the least of what Sony has planned for upcoming releases yet by any realistic measure. There's still lots o' fun stuff to come, and I'm pretty sure this is going to be a fairly major stop along the hype train.

Medias eyes only or do we gamers get to see too?

From what's been said in this thread.

- R2 will be played by the media. No video leaks though. Expect impressions.
- Ted Price will give an on stage presentation. Pray for leaked vids. JS may post a photo or two from the presentation on here.

That is all.

Time to show Angel Rings or cancel it >.>

I want Legend of Dragoon 2 + Dark Cloud 3

Nah. SCEI has wisely deduced that there's more demand for new Siren games and spiritual successors to Aquanaut's Holiday than RPGs.

Pretty sure that was in regards to PlayStation Premiere, which we didn't really get much out of.

why does everybody bank on SCEI to create their masterpiece RPG?

Last I check, most of the PS2's great RPGs weren't made by SCEI.

And for the record, SCEI is also busy making games for the PSP market in Japan.

Because when third parties won't do it, it's the job of the 1st party to set up and do it for them... a chicken and the egg scenario, to be sure, but the onus definitely falls to the platform holder.
