Between Dilbert and Tim Allen movies (Jeff Reads Tim Allen's Memoir), it's starting to grow a list where I cannot separate the artist from the art, when normally I have done so in the past.

Dilbert used to be one of the greatest comic strips. Clever, witty, absurdly accurate, and occasionally downright prescient.
Now it's just a vehicle for him to spew his increasingly shitty politics. Shame.
The joke is (or was) that Dilbert and his coworkers are brilliant, but are socially inept and extremely blunt. Whereas his boss is a dumbass but has social skills and understands corporate politics. This lets them both be switched out as the Straight Man depending on the context of the strip.
Dlibert here is clearly just being an avatar for Adams. There is no joke, he's trying to """"""educate""""" the reader.

Blame people that embraced their "Inner Chimpansee/Gorilla" as the books told them too. Lousy pickup artists. Really embrace your "barbarism", with fake images of how Gorillas and Chimpansees behave on their worst.
Ofcourse the GOP embraces it, as after all they are the party of "fun now! worry later!". Remember, they also stopped Michelle Obama's lunch regulations, while at the same time going to a school to eat fried chicken with kids. Basically "We are the party of fun!... fuck the future and other people! Only you are important."

This is why I really didn't like working in engineering. Construction managers may often share these views but, unlike engineers, don't think they're the only smart person in the room and everyone is too stupid to recognize their superiority.

Loved Dilbert in the 90s when I was a teenager.
Grew out of that and sad to see what a piece of crap he has become. His books were definitely pro-tech, he was never that big into science as I can recall but you would assume someone who is a tech nerd would also be into science and not some asshole who denies climate change.

There's critical thinking about this on part of some, but I wish there hasn't been, as it's only mudding the waters and being even more damaging, peddling some weird half-truths that don't help anything. I wish I could find a blog from some data analyst who goes to great lengths to show that the recent sharp global temperature increase is caused by natural events like El Nino etc. That guy, and others like him are a shining beacons of light for loons like Addams, as it lets them say stuff like: see - here's an obviously smart guy who can use unpronounceable words and science, <just like you!!> and cast a clear doubt to everything you've just been telling me - so why should I believe you and not him?

Adams called the election (after changing his mind twice lol). He seems very obsessed with Trump's sales skills and has basically made it his editorial focus.
He used that to talk about Trump in various news shows and such. That's basically his schtick now.

I used to love the dilbert stuff. That and Foxtrot. Seeing him go down this path makes me kinda sad.
That one Foxtrot strip where the dad bought his son 4 gears instead of Metal Gear Solid 4 for Christmas will never not be funny to me.

Scott Adams has been like this for a while, but I never connected the dots on how his personal relationship hitting the rocks reminds me of a more narcissistic Dave Sim.

Everything Trump does is good in his opinion. His first failed attempt at Obamacare, firing Comey, everything is a masterclass in persuasion according to this guy. It's so absurd that I sometimes wonder if his entire persona is a Poe's law troll.
Especially when he writes about how liberals will use emotionally manipulative tactics, and then in the next paragraph doubles down on using those methods he just described himself. The lack of self-awareness is baffling

I remember Scott Adams hot take during the run-up to the presidential election where he theorized that Trump was going to pivot to a more sensible, grounded version of himself once he'd locked down the primary nomination. I actually believed him on that...
That's what I thought - I remember seeing many threads in the past where comics were posted without issue (PBF, Penny-Arcade... even Boston and Shaun *shudder*).
I kinda miss those years. Everything felt more... innocent.
