For a moment in the first episode, it looked like they might, when Dr. Cox confessed to J.D. that he was getting tired of being the hospital's fixer, but I don't know yet if they're going to follow up with that.
Plot spoiler for later in the season:
Dr. Cox is going to be promoted to Chief of Staff.

I think that will definitely change the dynamics of things.

Also, from that article Dan linked to:

Flynn plays the Janitor on "Scrubs," which made its ABC debut this week and is likely in its final season. Other recent credits include "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" and a guest appearance on "My Boys."
Is Neil Flynn friends with Harrison Ford or something?

They need to bring that up on the show :lol

Edit: Wait a minute... now that Scrubs is no longer on NBC, does that mean no more Franklin jokes? :(

Would it matter? He hasn't made an appearance on the show since 2004.

Did anyone hear what Braff said at the end of ep 2, the outtake? Just before Turk said "That's cold!". I'm rewinding but I don't understand what's being said.

he said something like he would stuff turk and carla after they die and put them in his closet next to each other. :lol

First episode was a pretty good intro. Second was hilarious! I was laughing so hard at Turk's thoughts. :lol Lots of funny moments. Last part was kinda tearjearking. A great episode all around.

Holy cow!

Just came across this......

NBC bans a couple of it's stars from reprising their guest roles on Scrubs

http://www.aceshowbiz.com/news/view/00018183.html

Article said:
Due to respective commitments to the production house where their TV shows are under, "Heroes" star Masi Oka and "Chuck" actress Sarah Lancaster won't return as guest stars of "Scrubs". It has been months since NBC that own the right to "Heroes" and "Chuck" lost the sitcom "Scrubs" to ABC.

NBC officially ban Oka and Lancaster from recurring their roles in the series that will open a whole new chapter next year in spring. On the decision, "Scrubs" creator Bill Lawrence accommodates his disappointment, saying "They (Oka and Lancaster) wanted to do it, but NBC said no. Typical classy stuff," and adding "But (they) should not have been part of that fight. It felt kind of petty to me."

Oka played Franklin, a nerdy Japanese laboratory assistant who had his first appearance in first season while Lancaster portrayed Lisa, an attractive young blonde who ran the Sacred Heart Gift Shop in season 2.

No more Franklin or Gift Shop Girl. :(

I would suggest people to watch the webisodes on abc.com. The last one with JD explaining acronyms to the interns. Pretty hilarious especially when JD explains TCW kind of off the cuff.

It's been so long since we've seen Franklin, I didn't even remember who you were talking about until I read Masi Oka.

Also wasn't Gift Shop Girl only in one or two episodes?

They have been in lots of episodes in the background as I recall.

Original gift shop girl was only in two episodes, then they got another one when Kim debuted on the show.

Hey guys I have the script for next week's episode:

-Zach Braff contemplates a ridiculous twist on reality and/or an actual ridiculous thing occuring in the past via inner monologue.

-Zach Braff reenacts said ridiculous situation.

-Indie music plays as cast contemplates mortality.

What was the point of posting that? It's not really funny or amusing.

It amuses me. And that's the real meaning of Christmas.

Whoa, Scrubs is formulaic?! New and exciting!

P.S. Most shows are.

I used to watch it early on, but I felt like it went really overboard after a while. kind of like Boston Legal.

Nice to see J.D and Elliot back together. I think this will be the final time to and end the show like this hopefully. ABC is doing great with this show though not one bad episode yet.

I don't think it will this time....but it was funny seeing Kelso being the one to give a pep talk to get them back together. Only in the way Kelso can. :lol

but they aren't ending the show.
it will end badly because Braff is leaving.

Once Braff leaves the show is over for me. He is the main character and the show needs his voice over. Once he is gone it will be turning into saved by the bell shit. But you never know Braff could come back.

The show has been unbelievably excellent so far. There's been more character development in the first four episodes than there was in about two and a half seasons before this.

Why was there no Tuck in the first ep tonight and then no Carla in the 2nd?
A reduced budget. It's just cheaper not to have every actor and actress appear in every episode.

But also incredibly weird if they are, arguably, the two most important characters after JD. Plus they are married!

That happened last week too. It sucks but I do realize it helps the story and the show gotten better cause of it. But when big stuff happens in a episode I think the whole cast will come in.

Turk and Carla are probably the worst parents ever. There child is never mentioned. That should be fixed.

Though you could explain it as one of them always staying home to be with their kid.

Technical question: why is Elliot interacting with interns if she's in private practice? (or did I miss something last season?)

I was wondering the same thing. Nothing happened in regards to her private practice last season.

another awesome 2 episodes. So far 4 solids on ABC... can't complain. That's 4 more than they've had in the past 2 seasons combined.

and yeah, elliot is still sooo hot. damn. that scene with her on the bed in the coffee shop? mmmm

It is still a teaching hospital. Only reason I can come up with.

Elliot is hot. She got hotter as the show went on.

Is it a teaching hospital? I thought that only applied to hospitals attached to schools.

They gave more attention than usual to JD's ADD. If they have to write him off this year I am sort of hoping he is diagnosed with some disease or committed to a mental institution.

In last weeks episode they even said that it was a teaching episode when J.D was having trouble with his interns.

I think it is still a teaching hospital even though it is not connected with a school.
