Security guards sent to Infinity Ward. West and Zampella fired for "insubordination"

Whatever happens Treyarch better not be making COD: Modern Warfare 3 because Activision says so. IW built the house that is Call of Duty, and only IW can make Modern Warfare 3.

So why exactly is this the most fucked up day in gaming history? Because something happened at IW?

PS3 internal clock thing and the Valve Portal stuff (Although that's cool rather than fucked up).

IW staff leaves Activision for EA, irony meter broken

The return of 2015 is nigh. They will reclaim the Medal of Honor franchise, lift it to glory, have EA make it yearly and switch sides again.

The cycle continues.

I hate big wig execs... they psychotic in their methods of running studios.
the level stress one gets with the shroud of uncertainty is inhumane IMO for an employee

eat your neighbors capitalism sucks

No

No way.

Just...MW2 made over $1 billion...I mean, if IW isn't safe from Activision, no one is...not even Blizzard!

...

I think I'm scared right now.

Hold me...

Activision doesn't need Infinity Ward to sell Call of Duty. It can happen.

stock holders won't let kotick shit can their billion dollar goose.

Is there a secondary source to quote?

Well they don't need IW tomake more COD games. They can just slap MW3 or whatever on any one else developed COD game and really majority of the public would never know.

Activision has zero control over Blizzard.

To be fair, Blizzard is still pretty autonomous of Activision. Hell they still publish everything themselves after all.

Someone probably called in some male strippers and it was supposed to be a surprise so they couldn't really say what they were there for.

They're busy working on COD Piece 3: The Battle of the Bulge.

War. War never changes.

And here I thought IW was untouchable to Kotick's hands. :lol :/
Blizzard better watch their asses.

Blizzard does not answer to Kotick. They only answer to Vivendi, who controls the majority of Activision Blizzard, and the chairperson of Activision Blizzard, which is Mr. Livy or Levy?

Edit: Jean-Bernard Levy

Apparently it's not only the PS3 that has it's calendar messed up. Valve and IW calendars are mysteriously set to 04/01 instead of 03/01.

Kotic: My lawyers say otherwise.

I don't understand why they would dissolve Inifinity Ward. They are the main reason why call of duty series is so big.

If something is indeed going down between Activision-Blizzard and IW, then I thought people would be happy to see IW break away from them.

Goes to show what a fickle bunch gamers can be.

Where the hell are the studio heads is what I'm wondering.

This is so bizarre. Holy crap.

If someone could shop Kotick's head on that would be awesome.

Usually, said breaking away doesn't involve bouncers at your doorstep refusing to leave and not saying why they're there.

Well no one asked for the studio heads to be whacked. :(

why does everyone think activision bought out blizzard, blizzard Vivendi owns the majority shares in the merger

Probably because Wikipedia lists Activision Blizzard as a subsidiary of parent Vivendi.

I think what's surprising about this is that IW just released a $1 billion selling game, and if this news suggest what we think it does, then even that isn't enough for Kotick. If selling $1 billion worth of product doesn't give you job security in Kotick's eyes, what does?

Basically. That's the good thing about it being Activision-Blizzard if you're a Blizzard fan. Since Blizzard knows what they're doing and has been part of what's been keeping Vivendi's gaming division afloat for years, there's no way the Vivendi corporate overlords will let Kotick anywhere near them, especially after he's completely fucked up the Hero franchise like he has.

Hope everyone at IW is okay. Surely we have some IW insiders here who can give us a glimpse into what's going on, right?
