Lawrenceville is awesome, did you go to Franktuary? Burgatory?
Somehow I went to neither! Not sure how that happened but oh well.
So, my time in Pittsburgh went something like this. My Couch Surfing host vanished so on Thursday night I was stranded at Starbucks, killing time, frantically searching for somewhere to stay. Friendly NeoGAFers offered to help but at the last minute a couple in Lawrenceville offered to let me stay there, so I rolled in late that evening.
Friday I went for a walk down the river with Vijay and his dog. We went down to the "button" and walked along the river to the strip. I took some photos.
After the walk we had lunch. Vijay shared some pasta salad he'd made the day before. Then we headed out to Mt. Washington so I could get a view of the city.
Afterward we picked his wife and headed down to campus. We walked through the cathedral of learning and over to a farmer's market.
Later in the evening we went to a huge summer solstice party on a plateau in a park on the south side. It was a bit crazy, and moreso as the night wore on. With most women dressed as elves, five bonfires, and lots of drums.
As Vijay and his wife were heading to a weekend of camping the next morning, I met up with my next host, Chriss, at Bites and Brews for a beer then on to a house party before retiring for the night.
Saturday I went to Tamarind with Chriss for lunch, then mostly sat around during the afternoon. She had work and then I met up with the local NeoGAF crew at The Library and did this:

Afterward Chriss and I went to some of her friends' place and late at night (4am or so) decided it was way to hot to not have air conditioning in her apartment. So, we made a drive out to Carnegie to pick up a window unit which I installed and was sound asleep at around 7am.
Sunday saw us heading out to Raccoon Creek Park with some of her friends. That was on interesting experience. A "beach" on a lake, with some odd mix of western Pennsylvanians and sunbathers and hot dogs and...who knows. Either way, I hadn't brought anything to swim in for this part of the trip so I merely waded out in to the murky water. The rest of the day was mostly spent editing video.
Now my host has decided to join me on my adventure to Cedar Point! Then on Tuesday I'll be in Lasning, Michigan.
