That said, McFarlane isn't particularly talented. And his insistence on using actively ugly animation kind of fucks over every animated comedy. I have no reason to think The Flintstones would or will be dramatically different.

when i saw this thread the first person I thought of was John K and his remakes. His show's after Ren and Stimpy have been 90 percent gay innuendo and gross out humor. John K's version of Yogi Bear ruined a piece of my childhood and made me a worse person for watching it. Seth Macfarlane is at least a step above the stuff John K has done; outside of the original Ren and Stimpy that is.

I remember seeing this on TV back when it premiered, didn't know Tartakovsky was the creative genius behind it. I wouldn't mind a Flintstones remake if it was done by him.

Why does McFarlane get to have three shows air at the same time on a major TV network, and Tartakovsky has to leave CN because they wouldn't make toys for his show?

The art style is fantastic, it looks like it was made in the 60's, yet fits so well alongside Dexter's Lab.

Sadly, American Dad started becoming less and less about socio-political humour a long time ago. These days you even have stupid cutaway vignettes with talking mailboxes.

Matt and Trey put more heart in their cartoons though, often making a point. With Seth I feel its just a rollercoaster of off-centric joked about celebrities.
