Resistance:
40 players
Dedicated servers
Free for everyone with a PS3 to play
Halo 3:
16 players
No dedicated servers
50 dollars a year to play
Halo 3 ain't no Resistance killer. Someone needs a lesson in how to do online gaming right.
It sure as hell isn't Sony...
Do not feed trolls.VASPER said:what kind of CRACK are you on, Resistance SUCKS compaired to any of the halo's. I spent countless hours playing Halo 2 online and let me tell you it blows Resistance out of the F***ing water. OH and more players doesnt mean a better online.
Great game my wife was impressed by it and even enjoyed watching me play it because of the level of chance and surprise envolved. I plan to buy when it's released in June
My God man you compare Resistance online to that crap PDZ? Bail out while you can.goldenpp72 said:halo 3 will 'kill' resistance in its first day, and the people citing 40 players as something special really need to take a step back, more doesn't mean better, pdz had 32 players so I guess pdz kills halo 3 by 2?

Well abort mission then.krypt0nian said:Actually PDZ online play was pretty amazing. Single player not so much. No bail out required.
Is it $60 good?

Funny you should mention Tribes. Penny-Arcade:LAMBO said:Reminds me of TRIBES in some ways, no 360 or vista for me though.
Tycho said:So, yes - after Monday's hands-on experience with a very, very complete version of Shadowrun, I'm comfortable saying that they aren't blaspheming when they talk about Tribes. Tribes brought us robust customization and highly novel mobility systems. Teleporting through walls, floors, and ceilings is something I'm prepared to call "highly novel," and the Glider option will really take you back. If you can picture Tribes conglomerated with one part Counter-Strike, adding a round-to-round buy phase but bolstering the mundane options with cyberware and magic, you're there.
Getting past what I wanted a Shadowrun game to be - i.e. a role-playing game - was difficult, but this is not the first time they've gone elsewhere with a setting that I have some affection for. They took Battletech and Crimson Skies, elaborate tabletop wargames, and transformed them into (quite enjoyable) twitch action festivals. I've complained each time, and then recanted. There's probably a lesson in there, somewhere. Judging the game Shadowrun isn't might not be entirely constructive.
You've got four races, each with varying levels of "essence" that is used to power spells. In addition, when you install tech options, some of them actually lock up a certain amount of your essence so it's not available for use. Here's one example of how these things come together: A troll's skin begins to harden as it takes hits. This is an effect you can actually see, so as an opponent you can gauge how much of your damage is actually getting in there. You can chip this troll with Smartlink, an augmentation that allows limited autoaim, adds zoom to any weapon, and lets you fire into melee without harming your team. Installing that equipment locks down some essence. But since a troll's defensive ability is actually powered by essence, you're making a choice in doing so.
This is a game that is going to live and die by its demo, because I honestly believe that if I were to put a shooter enthusiast in front of this thing, the polish, the loadout options, and the feel of it will get a hook in. As an abstract concept, the game has interesting ideas. As a genuine experience - where its quick rounds and area-of-effect resurrections make each map a roaring asylum - it enthralls.
Has it been confirmed to be $60? Totally argee with you - you can't sell nine maps and three gametypes for $60 regardless of how good the core gamplay may be.Schafer said:The demo and the price, cause $60 for a 9 map multiplayer shooter won't fly with anyone.

I realize there is an audience for it. But the content - in terms of maps and game types - is about what Gears of War shipped with and much less than Halo 2 had, and those titles have full-blown campaigns included as well. Counterstrike sold well on the Xbox so this may impact sales less I think it will, but to this 360 owner, who is already sold on the gameplay, that's not enough content for that price.Fjord said:You could sell me Counterstrike for $60 much more easily than Halflife for $60.
I would like to know this as well. I will definitely buy it at $40 but no way I will spend $60 on online only game.GhaleonEB said:Has it been confirmed to be $60? Totally argee with you - you can't sell nine maps and three gametypes for $60 regardless of how good the core gamplay may be.

Vacheron CEO Juan-Carlos Torres took the opportunity to personally hand the watch to Michael Mann.
In Miami Vice, character Sonny Crocket (played by Colin Farrell) was wearing a Vacheron Constantin Malte Chronograph Perpetual Calendar in Platinum. Michael Mann decided to acquire it for his own personal collection.
The case, done in platinum, measures 39mm, has double sapphire crystals and is water resistant to 30 meters.
Movement is the manual-wind Vacheron caliber VC 1141QP with 21 jewels, beating at 18,000 bph and a power reserve of 48 hours.
Functions are hours, minutes, small second, date, days, month, year, moon
phase, chronograph minute counter and center seconds register

Whats the ultimate loadout (magic, weapons, and tech) for a Troll?
Christopher Blohm: I dont believe there really is an ultimate loadout, but there are some things that the Troll makes better use of. As for weapons, the Troll can be pretty effective with most weapons, but they are the best with the minigun as the clip size allows them to fight as long as their health holds out. Sniping can be a dangerous activity, as enemy snipers love the Trolls huge heads.
The one must-have magic item for Trolls is the Tree of Life. Trolls take lots of damage, so they have a serious need to heal. There really isnt a must-have tech for Trollssome like Smartlink (especially with a minigun), some like Wired Reflexes (with a katana), while I personally like Enhanced Vision.
If you had to compete against a team made up entirely of Trolls, what would your strategy be?
Christopher Blohm: When I see a Troll heavy team, I always buy Anti-Magic Generators. Trolls need Essence to harden, and if the Anti-Magic Generators take away their Essence, they are much less fearsome. Id also take a sniper rifle and start popping the Trolls big melons.
