I normally do. It's fun to watch the final push and be part of it. You also get to see the full picture before pledging. The only times where I haven't waited until the last day is if I wanted something from a limited tier and it looked like it would sell out.
You really showed him and made this thread an inviting place for fans.
10 million is the true Shenmue game. 5 million was Yu getting to add a gameplay feature he always wanted.
But man... how hard is it to introduce a digital + physical copy of the game reward tier that someone can gift to someone else? That is something people who don't have 100's of dollars they can spare invest in. I know I would.

We don't know what his deals are. It could be, for arguments sake, that a third party is matching our funds and he already has that in consideration when he says we need to give him 10 million. It could be he keeps funding options open during development and it gets funded that way. It could be he finds more third parties interested in helping. As is, it's impossible to say.

Bro, can I just say that at 2 million it would have been a true Shenmue game.
People need to stop this bullshit, it's annoying.
At $5million the world can be expanded, and the Character perspective system will be implemented (playing parts of the game as s different character).
$10 million 'a complete open world' is the only quote we have. Magic maze + I an guessing horse riding. Stuff like that.

Not really, but they do already have some other funding. The KS apparently contributes the bulk of development funding though.
I'd still hang out with this dude. I just wouldn't want to count on him for rent, or to run a campaign is all.

_/¯thats the only answer we can give. additional funding is coming in but kickstarter was always going to be the primary source of funding according to yu suzuki in that famitsu interview. maybe a good kickstarter is a bargaining chip for get more, but there's no way of knowing that so until then it's up to backers to bring in the money and make a better game possible.
Apparently it's a deal they signed with Sony's Third Party Production. This is what the blog says about the Third Party Production team:

So it basically sounds like a small sum of money to keep the game console exclusive for a certain amount of time along with technical assistance/marketing for the PS4 port.
Highly doubt it's funds that exceeds 7 figures that's needed to meet legitimate stretch goals.
I'm guessing you and I have a different measure of what a true Shenmue game is. Agree to Disagree.

You know, I'm actually kind of sad that we might not see Joel "red shirt" Tess on video again. I, personally, thought he was hilarious, just not in a running-Shenmue-campaign kind of way.

The very first stretch goal was exactly for gamers like you. Shenmue III will include cinematic shorts of the first two games so you are caught up to speed before diving into 3.
I would encourage you to look at the campaign again and possibly consider pledging as Suzuki has made a point to ensure the 3rd title is accessible.

Yes, I am aware of that. Even still it's one thing to be stoic but they really sucked out any personality and the delivery is extremely wooden.

I'm working my way through Shenmue 2 and watching GT's playthrough (which is great). I've seen them mention they did a Shenmue one like 3 years ago. Is that available anywhere?
Hopefully by that time I can afford a 3D printer.
Maybe I should get all of the toy capsules.
