Yeah! I don't know. My literature teacher almost always found an opportunity to say how the mainstream has a horrible taste and they are dumb and books are intellectual and if you don't like them you don't understand them and such and such. The whole mentality rubs me off.
All 3 books I read focused on autistic young kids, by the way. That has to be an obsession.

Sounds good. I hope it's worth it.

:lol Is this whole thing actually a troll? If not, see a mainstream, fun movie like "Tin Cup".

The godfather is one of the greatest movies ever made
Star Wars is an average kids movie

So yeah, it's worse that you haven't seen godfather.

To this day I still can't sit through the Godfather. Some parts are just unwatchably boring.

I thought this when I was 13, but rewatching them in college was the best idea ever.

I feel like the first two movies are paced so brilliantly and deliberately. I'm never bored, and the 3+ hours never feels like 3+ hours.

(No, this is not Girl-Age.)

So anyway, I was out with my friend last week and she was amazed at how I had not seen The Godfather before. However, today she didn't pick up on a Yoda/Jedi reference and I found out that she had not seen Star Wars before!

That got me thinking tonight... is it worse to have missed The Godfather or Star Wars? Is it normal for mid-20s adults to be missing significant portions of 70s-80s American culture?
Dude don't feel bad. I haven't seen a shit ton of movies that most people have and consider them a must to be seen. For example, I haven't seen:

American History X
Pulp Fiction
Fight Club
Good Fellas
Godfather movies
Scarface
Don't be a menace
Saving Private Ryan
Platoon
some of the original Batmans

And a shit ton more...

do you mean Menace II Society...Don't be a menace isnt that important
Not sure, just listed some of the movies my friends kept mentioning to see if I have seen them. They made fun of me a lot that day. =(

I've also never seen the Indiana Jones movies besides the Crystal Skull. I've seen a good bit of Temple Of Doom, but probably only about 1/3 to 1/2 of it.

I don't know what this is, but I haven't bothered enough to check out the DVD originals. I'm fine with the special editions to be honest.
