Should I sell my gaming PC for a PS4?

I had to get rid of my PC not too long ago due to space (It was only a mid-ish range PC though), and I've been more than happy with just a PS4, but you really can't beat having both. If getting both is absolutely out of the question I'd just stick with your PC, the PS4 is great, but your PC can just do so much more and try and borrow a PS4 from a friend or something if you absolutely need to play an exclusive.

I enjoy both but PC has a far larger library and control over your content.

Unless you put in an ssd and get a pro, ps4 is a downgraded experience for multiplat. So I'd only go ps4 only if you mostly like 1st party and timed exclusives.

lol 2017 alone has seen more than a handful of great PS4 exclusives, and the year isn't even over yet.

And while the PC does indeed have a far larger library of games, it rarely sees any big budget exclusives these days. Star Citizen and single-player multiplatform titles remain my primary reason for gaming on a PC.

Yo help me here it's Horizon, persona 5, ni-oh and yakuza 0 as far as I know which is less than a handful.

Btw, with a PS4, you get to own your games and not just a license to use... if you go physical that is.

Good luck playing your steam games in 20-30 years.

Actually Gabe Newell said that if Steam were to ever go down, he'd make sure you'd be able to play all of your games even after they shutdown.

OP, do you have a PC and a gaming PC, or are you one of those weirdos that do everything on your phone?

I like PCs because you can do photo/video editing, documents, etc. I have a "gaming PC" but I'll do taxes and stuff on it, too. I can't imagine having no PC at all.

It seems like a weird and arbitrary restriction, however, going along with it, yes you should. I think some of the best games to be made in the last five years or so are locked to the PS4.

I wouldn't recommend it.

I have both and a PS3, and my PS4 barely gets any use.

You can wait a while and pick up a Gen 1 PS4 if you need to, which is selling for 200 on ebay, used, and will only continue to drop.

I have a PS4 for some exclusives, but I wouldn't say it was worth the cost. It was a luxury Christmas gift to myself, for Spider-Man when that releases.

If you've played Dark Souls 3 at 60fps on PC, Bloodborne is going to make you wonder what all of the fuss is about. Yakuza 0 is fine, but it's not GOAT like some people pretend it is; it's fun, weird, and invokes memes, but it's also repetitive and long and not very deep. The presentation is also pretty low budget, so expect to read a lot a lot. And PS2 Classics are kind of dead, but trophies for PS2 games is cool.

It's all based on your use. I can go weeks without turning on my pc but then when I'm on pc I'm like wow awesome too.

If you just want to come home and push a button and play latest titles I'd go ps4 .

If you like specs, options , huge library of diverse old and new games , using your PC for other useful stuff go pc .

PC isn't worth the hastily in this day and age unless you are a bored college student

Ha!

This is a silly thing to say. I can be IN a game, playing with friends on my PC before my Xbox one has even loaded the same damn game.

PC's are WAY WAY faster at loading and booting now a days, thanks to large RAM pools, fast PCIe or SATA III and SSD's.

I don't even have to press a button. Just sit down, touch the mouse and it's ready to go.

Well, most college students don't own gaming PC's probably, they have to slum it with consoles, but once they become successful adults, they tend to migrate to the better system. ;p

Sell your PC for a ps4?

What!? Absolutely not.

You have a switch, which might imply you like local multiplayer games. There are dozens of amazingly fun local multiplayer indie games on steam. Steam has become the main platform of choice for all my friends.

Even my friend who doesn't have a PC expects me to bring my laptop when I come over so we can play something.

Maybe your issues with your PC involve it being a beefy desktop? I've gotten a lot more mileage out of my steam play using my laptop and taking it out, playing games that aren't particularly hungry for powerful graphics cards too.

lmao you've gotta be kidding me

take that PC master race bullshit somewhere else

people will own and buy what is best for them, not a $2000 gaming PC just because they wanna measure e-peens... my expensive gaming PC is collecting dust while my PS4 is played daily

Yes. That was the point. Even added a ";p" in case, you know, anyone would be so stupid as to take it seriously. Mind you, not only did you do exactly that, you appear to have taken NO issue with the guy who I quoted, who was absolutely NOT kidding when saying stuff like PC is such a hassle only bored college students would play on them.

And the prophecy comes full circle, it's always the same console fanboys who bring up this term. Complete with the $2,000 PC comment too.

You're precious.

Meh, consoles have rest mode, does the same thing. PC gaming is a lot better than it was when I started in the '90's but for me it's still less convenient that a console.

Think it really is an each to their own type thing. Neither are better or worse in my view, although I do love the 15 second boot on my PC my SSD provides :-)

Without fail, my man Lister comes through to defend the sanctity of the Personal Computer.

OP, sell everything. Keep the Switch, wait for Scorpio, then get a PC Engine. You'll be set for years to come.

Sure, why not. If you're not into the typical PC exclusives genres then it's fine.

I've sold mine, maining a PS4. Haven't missed it since.

No. You won't get anything close to what you payed for your PC most likely. That and there's no way I'd give up the variety of the PC library for a few games (judging from your OP that's all your interested in).

I find most people who asks for advices already know what they want, they need just one nudge in that direction.

I actually genuinely wasn't sure, and since this post I decided to stick with PC.

Until I saw that I could sell my PC for £500 and buy a second hand PS4 for £175. So in the last few days I've decided to sell up, take the extra cash, and buy a PS4 with FF15. I realised that because of Steam sales, although I had a fair few games, I'd only spent on average a few quid on each, and definitely got my moneys worth (I'd recently cleared my backlog), so don't feel like I'm missing out on the games.

Anyway I appreciated the advice, thought I'd update everyone :)
