Anybody else really enjoying the current presenters and lineup of shows at GameTrailers? They're striking a great balance between dorky enthusiasm and some of the most thoughtful and insightful commentary I've seen in gaming journalism since.. ever.
Brandon Jones, super professional and seems to run a tight ship and keeps everything slick and organised
Bosman, instantly loveable personality with a unique style, funny and great chemistry with other presenters but also offers some great personal insights and editorialist about games and the industry as a whole
Huber, the perfect antidote to the relentless "heh that's gonna suck" cynicism of a lot of the other big outlets and yet still has some interesting insights. Compare his reaction to the Sony presser to that of GiantBomb.. I know how I'd rather feel about gaming.
Ben Moore, comes across as a young Mark Kermode of the video game world to me, goes into so much depth about what he thinks about games but does it in a really accessible way, as a critic he really holds video games to the standard you'd expect of other art forms, exactly what the industry needs imo
Elyse and Ian are legit comedians with a good satirical eye, they're funny enough to be on the Daily Show or the like imo
And props to everyone else in front of and behind the camera. There was no contest that this was the best place to watch E3 imo.
Not to brown nose but just feel a lot more positive about gaming journalism right now thanks to these guys and I'm so glad they haven't given in to the trend of shitting on everything like hipsters.
