Show us your gaming setup: 2019 Edition

I recently moved to an apartment and added to my desk area are a couple IKEA pegboards. Yesterday I added a LED light strip on top of the pegboards and it turned out better than expected!

The Pegboards... This is, what I "envisioned" for my new place. Very cool to see, that this idea is viable and can look this awesome!

Celcius Celcius : Man, my knees hurt just by the sight of the middle drawer... but nonetheless what a nice looking desk!

Thanks, my grandmother gave it to me when I was a kid. She's no longer living but it reminds me of her. The drawer is higher than it looks so I never hit my legs or anything. :)

Ayeee I have that same keyboard you have on your wall. Love typing on it

Here's my cruddy little setup. I'm eventually getting a bigger desk to fit everything so it's less cluttered and fits the tv's and stuff.
FT: Ps4, Xbox360, Switch, Various handhelds, and other stuff lol (my headset was on my head cause I didn't think to take a pic of it but you can see the reciever under the big tv)

Is that Panasonic in 4:3 aspect ratio?

That's a great-looking setup.

Ofcourse sir. (edit: it's a 2008 720p LCD but I only play in 4:3 aspect ratio)

Everything hooked up through RGB Scart (PS2 via S-video).

This set has a great scaler for analogue content, it's not perfect but gets the job done.

It's one of the reasons I hold on to it, I mean it has two scart inputs!

For sure! I've heard great things about those early Panasonic panels for retro gaming. My understanding is the scaling is (still to this day) among the best for non-CRT displays. I am jealous. :messenger_smiling_hearts:

Put that thing on a swivel if you haven't already and that's an enviable shmup setup, too. Easy tate.

Looks nice! Do you use 4 monitors for a wrap-around view?

Thanks.
No, Sadly. 3 are 1920x1080 and 1 is 3440x1440 so I can either use 3 as 5760x1080 (I do for simulator games sometimes) but I usually just use the Acer Z35P for most of my gaming with 1 HP 23es on the side for watching youtube or twitch /youtube chat when I stream.

Since my pics on the previous page I've upgraded my keyboard and decided to try out a new mouse / controller. If I could marry this keyboard, I would.

And I decided I needed to up my RGB game.

Gamecube controller is a must. I mostly bought the wii for the gamecube games. I've got it softmoded so I've got all my games stored on a hdd hooked up to the wii.
It was sad when Nintendo pulled the GCN ports and the compatibility out of the model. I feel like they didn't get enough flak for it.

I've also Homebrew Channel'd my system which makes it even more convenient to plug into a CRT and forget about fiddling with the details.

I have concluded that people who own either a Dreamcast or a Saturn can not be bad people. Naturally, I don't own either.

Sorry for potato quality, my phone sucks.

So the list if you can't see it all is:
Retro AVS (with N8 Everdrive)
Super NT (with SD2SNES, Super Gameboy 2 and GB Everdrive)
Turbografx 16 (with Turbo Everdrive)
Sega Genesis (with Mega Everdrive)
Nintendo 64 (RGB modded with Everdrive 64)
Sega Saturn (Japanese System with Phantom Modchip)
Dreamcast
PS2 (SoftModded)
OG Xbox
Wii U (Soft Modded, Amazing for DS games)
Switch
PS4 Pro
Xbox One S
in a drawer there is a backlit Gameboy, GBA, GBA Micro, DSi, 3DS, and a 3DS XL

All the original systems are hooked into a Hydra Scart Switch and running into my OSSC
and all of that feeds into my PC and I'm able to stream all this stuff

Got to be honest even I feel like this is too much after typing it lol

Well, this has been a long time in the making. We first moved to our new London flat in early 2017. We worked with some interior designers to realise our vision for the apartment. In late 2017 we had a leak that ruined most fixed surfaces, and 2018 was spent battling with insurers, and getting repairs done. The flat is now complete, and we got to enjoy the break at home playing games.

Here is a look at some of the different spaces in the apartment:

Lounge and dining area

The heart of the flat, where we spend most of our time. A Genelec 7.0 system provides sound to the space, with a three Genelec 8351s in the front, and four ceiling-mounted Genelec 8341s at the rear. The TV is Sony 85x9505B, chosen for its low input latency and high quality 4K HDR image.

The Genelec speakers where chosen because they allow us to hear the video games closest to what the likes of Capcom or Bioware intended. The large amount of reflective glass surfaces was a particular challenge, but Genelec used their software to minimise intrusive artefacts resulting from the hard surfaces in the space.

KIT LIST - Sony 85x9505B TV, Genelec 8351 speakers. A bespoke media unit, with Xbox One X, PS4 Pro, Switch and a Titan X Pascal gaming PC, through a Marantz 8802a AV amp. Hatches for Switch and PlayStation VR. Togo sofas from Ligne Roset.

Snug

This is the most indulgent and fun area in the flat. We designed it as a comfy late night escape, a cave where one can retire to late at night when others go to sleep. A Sony 4K TV on the left is hooked up to a Super NES Classic and a NES Classic, making this the classic gaming space. This space also hosts a headphones listening station.

KIT LIST - Sony KD-49X8305C on a Desalto pole, Genelec AIC25 speakers. A bespoke shelving unit with an integrated minibar. Cambridge Audio streamer (Tidal/Spotify), Schiit Yggdrasil DAC, Schiit Ragnarok amp, and Hifiman HE-1000 headphones. NES Mini, Super NES Mini, PlayStation Classic, Analogue NT Mini, Analogue Super NT.

View from Snug to Lounge

Snug terrace is designed to be our 'cigar terrace'. I smoke one cigar every two months with a good friend, always here with a glass of whisky. Reindeer hides remind us of our native Finland.

Kitchen and breakfast bar

I often sit around the breakfast bar with my iPad, reading GAF, or playing Pokemon Go on my phone. TV and front Genelecs in the lounge can be seen on the left side. The coffee machine is integrated on the right hand wall, and it does fantastic cappuccinos.

Breakfast terrace

This is at the front of the lounge. It's very often windy in the City, so getting to have breakfast here is a rare treat.

Study

This room is mostly for work, and personal management. A bespoke, motorised desk for standing and sitting work. iMac 5K for any desktop games - such as WoW, Starcraft 2 and Dota 2. Framed above the Mac, production drawings of the first Sega Megadrive from June 1989.

KIT LIST - iMac 5K, Genelec AIC25 speakers.

Guest room

I've spent more time of my life in hotels than one should. Our guest room was modelled based on my favourite features of hotels. The bed is large, and has USB and charging slots on the side. A study desk with a comfy chair provides a space for any urgent work. A power jack is hidden under a hatch, so that laptops and iPads can be charged while working. Light blocking curtains darken the room for a good night's sleep.

KIT LIST - bedside Apple docks and USB-C chargers, Genelec AIC25 speakers.

Jeezes how rich are you I could barely afford to rent a small apartment close to Gatwick Airport when I lived in England which is almost 40 minutes by train from London.

Final wire hooked up. Still a bit messy but that's the beta shot. Nightmare to merge modern and old into one. I moved a couple years ago and having to redo it all has been tough, but I made corrections to prior mistakes!

Dude...that's fucking awesome!

My shit setup:

Yes I am aware the webage is bad... its an old picture. I do mostly PC gaming with a lot of time spent on Switch handheld, the stack on the side is the most expensive thing in the pic... being an audiophile is a disease.
