What's this desk

The desk came from IKEA. The legs are height adjustable on it. To the right and slightly under the edge of the desk is also from ikea. I think it has 5 drawers in it. I'll look on their site later and see if I can find the exact name of them.

Yeah that its. You can get them in different colors and you can buy them where the side that comes out to make it like an L shape is either on the right or left side. I got mine with it on the left.

And here is the drawer organizer that sits next to it. I just didn't put the file folder racks in the bottom drawer, that's my snack drawer.

They aren't fancy but it also isn't bulky or huge and allows me to have 2 monitors, keyboards and mice but still have a decent amount of space.

One thing I have a really hard time with is cable management, these setups look so clean! I dunno how some of you do it, it's like magic.

Behind my TV is a complete mess of HDMI and power cables, I've only got like three consoles plugged in alongside a sound bar and subwoofer but it looks so messy compared to this. Don't even get me started on behind my computer too. Do you guys coil them up before stuffing them behind things? There has to be a secret.

One thing I did is I ordered multiple length power and HDMI cords from monoprice. The PS4 comes with, what, a six foot cord? Maybe you only need a three footer? PC power cord, with a right angle power plug on it? Yep, you can do that too. Color coded cords as well.

300 bucks for an Ikea desk?

what kind of keyboard is that pal?
It's a Komplete Kontrol S61 mk1. I have Komplete 10 Ultimate running as VSTs in FL Studio. The customizable light up keyboard is helpful for a newbie like me who has no formal training, but can still find use for creating electro or rap loops and beats.

oof Pricey, but very cool

I was ready to press the report button because i thought that you didn't have a PS2 in the photo until i finally saw it in the last minute. :p

Seriously though very nice collection although for hardware stuff i would prefer a piece of furniture that has glass doors.

I'm not the biggest fan of the PS (was more for the PS 1) and sorry the only glass I have is for the TV stand, with some of my other systems. The Intellivision was my very 1st console and still love it today

An ATARI ST!

KILL IT WITH FIRE!

*SCNR* ;)
My 1st 16-bit system way back in the late 80s. I had my uncle's Amiga 600 too but just gave it away to make room for the 32bit Gen in 1994. Could cry at some of the gaming stuff one just gave away or threw in the bin to make room for the new stuff

Well, this has been a long time in the making. We first moved to our new London flat in early 2017. We worked with some interior designers to realise our vision for the apartment. In late 2017 we had a leak that ruined most fixed surfaces, and 2018 was spent battling with insurers, and getting repairs done. The flat is now complete, and we got to enjoy the break at home playing games.

Here is a look at some of the different spaces in the apartment:

Lounge and dining area

The heart of the flat, where we spend most of our time. A Genelec 7.0 system provides sound to the space, with a three Genelec 8351s in the front, and four ceiling-mounted Genelec 8341s at the rear. The TV is Sony 85x9505B, chosen for its low input latency and high quality 4K HDR image.

The Genelec speakers where chosen because they allow us to hear the video games closest to what the likes of Capcom or Bioware intended. The large amount of reflective glass surfaces was a particular challenge, but Genelec used their software to minimise intrusive artefacts resulting from the hard surfaces in the space.

KIT LIST - Sony 85x9505B TV, Genelec 8351 speakers. A bespoke media unit, with Xbox One X, PS4 Pro, Switch and a Titan X Pascal gaming PC, through a Marantz 8802a AV amp. Hatches for Switch and PlayStation VR. Togo sofas from Ligne Roset.

Snug

This is the most indulgent and fun area in the flat. We designed it as a comfy late night escape, a cave where one can retire to late at night when others go to sleep. A Sony 4K TV on the left is hooked up to a Super NES Classic and a NES Classic, making this the classic gaming space. This space also hosts a headphones listening station.

KIT LIST - Sony KD-49X8305C on a Desalto pole, Genelec AIC25 speakers. A bespoke shelving unit with an integrated minibar. Cambridge Audio streamer (Tidal/Spotify), Schiit Yggdrasil DAC, Schiit Ragnarok amp, and Hifiman HE-1000 headphones. NES Mini, Super NES Mini, PlayStation Classic, Analogue NT Mini, Analogue Super NT.

View from Snug to Lounge

Snug terrace is designed to be our 'cigar terrace'. I smoke one cigar every two months with a good friend, always here with a glass of whisky. Reindeer hides remind us of our native Finland.

Kitchen and breakfast bar

I often sit around the breakfast bar with my iPad, reading GAF, or playing Pokemon Go on my phone. TV and front Genelecs in the lounge can be seen on the left side. The coffee machine is integrated on the right hand wall, and it does fantastic cappuccinos.

Breakfast terrace

This is at the front of the lounge. It's very often windy in the City, so getting to have breakfast here is a rare treat.

Study

This room is mostly for work, and personal management. A bespoke, motorised desk for standing and sitting work. iMac 5K for any desktop games - such as WoW, Starcraft 2 and Dota 2. Framed above the Mac, production drawings of the first Sega Megadrive from June 1989.

KIT LIST - iMac 5K, Genelec AIC25 speakers.

Guest room

I've spent more time of my life in hotels than one should. Our guest room was modelled based on my favourite features of hotels. The bed is large, and has USB and charging slots on the side. A study desk with a comfy chair provides a space for any urgent work. A power jack is hidden under a hatch, so that laptops and iPads can be charged while working. Light blocking curtains darken the room for a good night's sleep.

KIT LIST - bedside Apple docks and USB-C chargers, Genelec AIC25 speakers.

Daaaaamnn son !!

Thanks guys you're very kind! It's been a long road since the first gaming setup picture I posted here on GAF, in 2004:

You say that, and you really should be proud of yourself for how far you've come but even then your old setup isn't offensively bad. It's a little untidy and not so stylish, but it's acceptable. It's better than my setup lol. I have a PC setup with my monitors on a 4-legged, metal table and the part I consider nice about it is that the table has a matching tablecloth on top.

Mine feels kinda inadequate compared to some of these setups but here it is! :

(little cheat - 360 is not connected. I just finished some backlog on (finished edf 2017 finally in coop and lost planet 2) it and disconnected it. There is just no room for power brick and another set of cables but when I play it few times a year, the cables are ready in the close below. PS4 is connected legit though :)
The PS4 shelf represents all of ps4 games I have. I just use it for exclusives so Death Stranding is joining tomorrow!!! Love that console. Pretty quiet.
360 is for display mostly now and for nostalgia.
Pc monitor is Lg 27uk650, speakers presonus e3.5, headphones koss porta pro (e10k dac), pc 3700x/rtx 2070/nvme galore. The keyboard is some masterkeys on brown which I can't stop making mistakes with. I don't like it. The mouse is 10 years old logitech g400. Looking to go wireless.

Which of these 360 games on the right should join the nostalgia display stack? I have place for 1 more game :P (btw - I have all other games on pc. The 360 collection represents exclusives (or used to be exclusives that I still have nostalgic feelings around 360 console) and games with exclusive features like Lost PLanet 2 or edf Insect Armageddon which do not have coop on pc. Just Cause 360 version have much better graphics and so on.

I'm just rocking an Alienware 17 and that's not likely to change any time soon. Good news is it has a lot of free slots for ram upgrades and such still. More good news is I'm pretty 5-years-ago or more in terms of game tastes~

which speaker are these?

Presonus e3.5. Ive got them after my 2 year old mackie cr3 started popping and crackling and these are great
Thanks I am looking for some new ones. So you prefer the Presonus over the Mackie? Is there enough bass for some music aswell?

There is plenty of bass! Mackie sounded good but they break easily (internal power supply) and overall sound a but more muffled.
Presonous is more detailed and great for music. There is e4.5 model if You need more bass but I dont think its needes
