Is the US updating today? Will we get Meatloaf? That song would actually make me defy my "I have $25 dollars in SingStar music I'll never get back because my phat YLOD'ed on me, Sony are A HOLES in taking care of things that are in part their own problem, and why should I buy anymore Singstar music when my Slim could YLOD on me at any given time as well" logic.:D

It was already UK-centric, but even some artists which I thought would make it (i.e. Delta Goodrem) are missing from the US version.

There's a problem with Delta Goodrem - "Innocent Eyes". The note charting for "Who won't / Just hide" is a word off. Occurs at 2 minutes in.

I'll harrass everyone I can get a hold of over it, but they'll probably all be at christmas.

I think I should mention that when I saw Delta perform on David Letterman awhile back promoting her third album, David referred to it as her "debut" album instead. Which I found odd, also Innocent Eyes and Mistaken Identity no longer show up on iTunes on this part of the world (that or I can't find it or they were never on iTunes to begin with here =x).

So maybe her switch to UMG in North America has something to do with it now.

i've come to the conclusion that if you really enjoy singstar and are in the US, you need to bite the bullet and just get UK PSN cards.

This is more noticeable. With "Ocean Breathes Salty" the notes go fast so it's hard to match up the visual and aural information quick enough to judge the effect of the lag (at least for someone who isn't intimately familiar with the song). These notes are slower, and it's dead obvious when you sing the word "Who" while the previous line ("Inside - - -") is still on the screen.

There are note bars at the right times -- just with the wrong words underneath. i.e. when you are meant to side "Won't" it displays a note that the lyrics call "Who"; when you are meant to sing "Just" it displays a note that the lyrics call "Won't", etc. Those four particular notes (and the end of "Inside - - -" are all at the same pitch, so you get by just singing the right words and ignoring the lyrics. It's just really really jarring, especially when you start singing a new line but you see the screen still displaying the previous line.

So virtually to have access to the UK Singstore, since Im in the US, I just do this

A) Buy a UK PSN card from somewhere (where?)
B) Make a UK PSN account (I tied my same account to the UK PSN online account thing, ie, its linked up with my trophies and all)
C) Browse in Singstore?

Is that right?

That sounds about right. You can buy a code for a 20 or 50 pound PSN card online, try this site.

Anyone know if there's a problem with this week's update on a UK PSN account?

All of the songs released on the store this week are padlocked for me in both the game and via the viewer, but all the songs from previous updates are purchaseable. I tried last night and this morning, both with the same result.

For me usually exiting out of the game and going back in will fix things. You can also try to buy the song through the Singstar Viewer and see if you have better luck there.

Will try again this evening but it wasn't working in either the game or the viewer.

Anyone having problems with SingStore locked content might have better luck if they view a media upload of that particular song and using the Quick Buy option from the context menu.

On that note, if anyone has purchased The Go-Betweens - "Streets Of Your Town", could you please upload a media file for it? :(

UK account? I can't even buy Il Divo or Celine Dion on my (main/local) CA account since those new songs are padlocked for some reason all day yesterday. =(

Buying anything from this week's store update is still broken for me. Tried all of the suggestions (even going via Quick Buy from the Community side of things) as well, but nothing works on both the ful game and the viewer.

For what it's worth, my setup is UK PSN account, UK internet connection, Japanese PS3.

Hope they get this fixed soon as for once there's actually new stuff I want to buy!

is there any other way besides calling sony up to get my EU singstar DLC reauthorized for download onto a new PS3?

i know you can just contact SCEA via email to get DLC reauthorized, but does SCEE have something similar? via email?

You have to ring PlayStation helpline. Phone number depends on country.

If you need a license transfer because your old console broke and you got a refurb from Sony, also have your service request number handy.

Analysis:
A lot of songs from the 100Pxx range in this update. This region corresponds to the most recent licensing. For comparison, the UMG deal (July 2009) occured in the early part of 100Oxx.

Haven't done too much detailed analysis into this update, but I'll note that The Lady Gaga song (100ODV) was requested much later than her previous two titles (Poker Face: 100NNM; Just Dance: 100NNW). The earliest I can pinpoint the 100ODx range is August 2009, when I discovered the cover for "Broken Strings". I've suspected that the 100ODx region corresponds to around the time we were compiling that huge UMG-wishlist, with a few prominent requests appearing in this range. Much of this region however, including the entire span of 100ODW-100OEA, is blank.

Still no confirmed date if I remember correctly. Your probably best off importing them. They are worth it as well, much better than the wired ones.
