Yeah, that was something.

Still, I liked S3. I don't think it was until S4 that the series started to irk me.

If these Cook episodes fail me, I'll just remember the series from S1-S3 + Effy's Special.

Same. S1-3 (except for the final episode of S3) are incredible television, as is Skins Fire (Pt. 2 in particular).

The rest can choke on its own tonally bipolar pretentiousness :-p

Agreed. It's funny, if you just choose those episodes, then Skins is basically the story of Effy.

hahahaha oh wow that was fucking awful. what a great way to end the show, with an episode that symbolizes how badly it went to shit. part 1 was good, but this was just fucking terrible. and you know, the one thing people probably wanted to see, a bit of clarification from the end of s4, was not shown

Really?

Damnit, I was really looking forward to that.

I loved Part 1 of Skins Rise. Thought it was beyond fantastic. I admit that Part 2 wasn't as good but I found it surprisingly profound and moving. You have to have S4's finale fresh in memory to understand the depth of the episode's final moments. I thought that the
final confrontation between Cook and Louis was tense, edge of your seat television.
As for the reveal on Freddie's killer it was revealed in
Part 1 when Cook delivered the line of "I killed someone". There's your revelation right there. He had a fight. He killed Freddie's killer. What else could they have possibly revealed?

Overall, Skins Fire was awesome. Skins Pure was a letdown (the ultimate filler episode as others have said). Skins Rise had an amazing Part 1 and a lesser but still profound and emotional Part 2. I don't know. Maybe it's the beer that I've had talking (I wanted to get drunk for the final episode of Skins) but I thought Part 2 was good. I agree that it wasn't as good as the setup (Part 1) but I felt moved by those final scenes. That entire last shot of
Emma just hanging there as Cook "rose" to the occasion was just perfect.

I do love Cook as a character (he was the prime reason I watched S3 and S4 so perhaps I'm biased) but I thought Skins ended on a high note. I felt moved by tonight's episode and that's all I expect from good television. Such an amazing series overall though. I'm going to miss it dearly.

Anyone else catch Part 2 of Rise yet?

Cook was my favorite character, and that is why I feel they dropped the ball on part 2. I know they said it in part 1, but i wanted a bit more of what exactly happened, him running away, etc. i find it weird that in fire or rise they never even mention anything about it really

That shit was embarrassing. Are you fucking kidding? How the fuck does the entire Skins series end with one of the best characters sissy-fighting
a fucking uncharasmatic cunt with purple pants.

There was nothing profound, or fun, or even intelligible about this episode or season. Even Cook's
I'm fooking Cook
wasn't convincing.

Welp. I don't think part 2 of Cook meshed very well with the setup in part 1, but it is what it is. Fire made the reboot of this season worthwhile I think.

So watched Skinrs Rise. It was...decent, but for a final episode? I think Effy's was more fitting.

Oh well, I'll just remember this series by S1-S3 & Skins Fire.

Wow lots of negativity towards cooks last ep, I thought it was great. Knew it was going that way from the beginning. He's a phenomenal actor and I love that character. Cassie's episodes were a waste of time. I was disappointed with the lack of details on Freddie though.

Oh, I didn't hate it. It just didn't really feel like a finale for me.

I agree that it didn't feel like a series finale but with the structure of this "season", I never expected a real fitting ending that would bring the right kind of closure.

I really don't remember the series being so "artsy" and self indulgent. Perhaps my memory is warped.

I thought for sure they'd have an awesome Cook episode. Make him a drug kingpin or something who goes around making trouble without a care in the world. Get him to shout "I'm fucking Cook" a few times at some unsuspecting kids on the street. Seriously, how hard is it to come up with an epic plot involving Cook?! But nope, instead we get this melodramatic bullshit.

And yeah - I thought Fire was decent but it still didn't feel like an episode of Skins. Time to download the first few seasons...

Oh wow, What a shame.

Skins 1 >>> Skins 2 > Skins 3 > Skins 5 >>> Skins 4 > Skins 6 > Fire > Pure = Rise

Isolating each group was really a brilliant idea for the writers to do. That way the shit near the end could even be considered non-canon if you wanted it to be.

The first series had some great cuts.

I thought Rise was pretty good. It was nice to see Cook again and the first episode felt very Skins-y. Part two felt like something totally new, but I thought it was pretty exciting and I liked the way it ended.

Anyway, I think that Pure was my favorite, followed by Fire and then Rise. I liked all three of them though, and I'd say that "Skins Redux" was, overall, a triumphant final outing for a show with such a tempestuous past.

Finished Fire, Pure, and Rise. Been holding off watching them on Hulu, but binged this weekend.

Satisfied with Cooks and Effy's conclusion. Good to see Cassie's family life we never saw, but kind of meh (she was never really interesting in season 1). Would have been cool to see some cross chatter going on, like Effy on the news while Cook was at the pub, or mention of a slain family on a hospital monitor during Fire. I assume Cassie was talking about Syd when she said she traveled with someone in the states, and a shame we never saw JJ (though I thought for sure he'd show up). Didn't expect to see many people from the series, but not seeing hardly any left an empty feeling to the trilogy.

What it really felt like was the whisper of generation 1 and 2, not a continuation. Not quite bollocks, but not quite brilliant... just stories of life going on. Maybe that's what they were aiming for. Just happy there was some sort of finality.
