SkyDrive coming to Xbox One

I use Skydrive so the more devices it can access the better.

However, I don't really see myself needing to upload anything from the Xbox One to the drive...

On the opposite end though, things I upload to Skydrive I might want to display on the TV...

Good. I've asked for years: Why can't consoles be low functioning computers?
Give me a browser, a keyboard+mouse, basic office suites and allow USB printers.
Thought PS3 could begin to do it with Linux.

I think it'd be cool, but now you're going into territory where at that point, might as well have a computer, a laptop, or even a tablet handy instead.

XB1 can get away with the entertainment bit- after all, hey, if PS3/360 had all these media options, why can't a next-gen console?- but for actual work, while I'm sure some would appreciate that, the majority of users would probably pass on it, negating any benefit of developing it in the first place.

This. wouldn't mind it showing a screensaver/slideshow from my Camera Roll on the SkyDrive.

What's the big deal? The 360 has had a SkyDrive app for a while now. But it's somehow a bad thing on the XB1? There's already a SkyDrive app for IOS, Android WP etc... so being able to access your personal pics and vids on the big screen is only logical.

yeah... this post exactly

I don't use Skydrive but it's on my computer. I just never had the need for it.

Kind of a little off-topic, but I thought it was pretty neat that if you don't say anything for a while. The kinect automatically stops listening. It's nothing huge but I noticed this for the first time. I know you can tell it to stop listening manually, but I didn't know it was auto as well.

Weird to see almost everything announced on xbox get some kind of bad feedback on here even when it's an optional thing to use lol

That is how it is around these parts for now. Stick around, the winds change direction really quickly.

On topic, it is a nice to have that I probably will use sparingly. I could see showing photo slideshows with it or home videos.

cool and lol at people trying to somehow spin this as a negative

Fanboy wars...... its a curse come new console cycles

Exactly, I use it to show pic of our son to family members on our big TV. Better then trying to show them on my PC or phone

I dont understand it either. It adds to the system. Does nothing to take away from the system. Not sure how anyone can construe this as a negative against the system.

The more functionality the better. I can already see uploading my movies from my comp to my skydrive and playing them on the TV. Sounds like a great idea.

Its already on 360 has people have already said, if you use Skydrive a lot its actually pretty cool to use to display family photos during a holiday or get-together.

So... er... does anyone actually use SkyDrive?

Hell yeah.

My phone automatically syncs all of the pictures/videos I take with it to SkyDrive, and I use it for editing/viewing office docs all the time. I'll probably use the X1 app when I come back from a vacation and show off all my pictures to my friends.

SkyDrive is awesome.

Plus, I just got 200GB storage for free with my SP2.

The voice stuff is actually pretty cool. Didn't know you could access the marketplace with it.

You can access everything with it, and its always running so you could be in the middle of game and decide you want to download an app via voice (why you would do this, I have no idea, but you could).

It s supposed to be a gaming device ?

More features for a gaming device is actually a good thing. These things are far more than just your average gaming devices now. They are gaming devices that offer a range of capabilities beyond just gaming and allow users to access a number of services. This is how you make a product better. You find solid ways to introduce useful features.
