SkyDrive coming to Xbox One

No. Nothing happens if you don't follow "Xbox" with a command.
I think it'd be cool, but now you're going into territory where at that point, might as well have a computer, a laptop, or even a tablet handy instead.
XB1 can get away with the entertainment bit- after all, hey, if PS3/360 had all these media options, why can't a next-gen console?- but for actual work, while I'm sure some would appreciate that, the majority of users would probably pass on it, negating any benefit of developing it in the first place.

This. wouldn't mind it showing a screensaver/slideshow from my Camera Roll on the SkyDrive.
Oh. I thought I saw somewhere that just saying Xbox makes it show a list of commands or something.
Oh well.
You can't imagine that it could be used for any game-related stuff?
I don't see any problem with it whatsoever. Sounds like it will give people options- which is good.

I don't use Skydrive but it's on my computer. I just never had the need for it.
Kind of a little off-topic, but I thought it was pretty neat that if you don't say anything for a while. The kinect automatically stops listening. It's nothing huge but I noticed this for the first time. I know you can tell it to stop listening manually, but I didn't know it was auto as well.

So that means it shouldn't have any multimedia applications? Again, they aren't forcing you to use any of this.

On topic, it is a nice to have that I probably will use sparingly. I could see showing photo slideshows with it or home videos.

Powerpoint could be somewhat interesting actually, since presentations are meant to be read on a big screen.
Word, not so much.

Exactly, I use it to show pic of our son to family members on our big TV. Better then trying to show them on my PC or phone

Good news, I use Skydrive quite a bit since getting a Lumia, so this should get a lot of use going forward.

Skydrive servers are doing the transcoding, so I doubt it.
Its a Comcast box, but it would depend on where they're at.

I dont understand it either. It adds to the system. Does nothing to take away from the system. Not sure how anyone can construe this as a negative against the system.
The more functionality the better. I can already see uploading my movies from my comp to my skydrive and playing them on the TV. Sounds like a great idea.

It's the only reason I use it.
WIll it store game saves? That should be standard about now. Especially with all the hard drives these systems come with.
I used it once for uploading spreadsheets, so I'm glad I can show them to y'all on the One!
I wish this thing could use spreadsheets, then I'd be able to use it as a business expense.

Don't personally use Skydrive but the wifey keeps her photos backed up there so I can see it being good for viewing those.
It has access to IE so should be able to open Skydrive.com and use the online Excel / Word / Powerpoint stuff there.

Hell yeah.
My phone automatically syncs all of the pictures/videos I take with it to SkyDrive, and I use it for editing/viewing office docs all the time. I'll probably use the X1 app when I come back from a vacation and show off all my pictures to my friends.
SkyDrive is awesome.
Plus, I just got 200GB storage for free with my SP2.

You can access everything with it, and its always running so you could be in the middle of game and decide you want to download an app via voice (why you would do this, I have no idea, but you could).

More features for a gaming device is actually a good thing. These things are far more than just your average gaming devices now. They are gaming devices that offer a range of capabilities beyond just gaming and allow users to access a number of services. This is how you make a product better. You find solid ways to introduce useful features.
