Skyrim: New(er) Screenshots and Previews

Only now it's not even up to the player to do anything about it. Bad enough every FPS out there including Battlefield and Deus Ex has to coddle the players with this shit, now it's in RPGs.

At least this game can be modded.
What was so good about the other way? You could wait, take a potion, eat some food or sleep. The only thing that would hurt the gameplay would be regen during battles. Magic has always regenerated and could always be used to refill health.

I would imagine so. The 13" which just has the HD3000 integrated can play NV fine on low/medium at native resolution, though the 13" has a lower native resolution. I'd be surprised if it couldn't handle Skyrim on low at least.

Well it's just the higher screen resolution. I'm wondering if it might be better to grab on the consoles for the time being.

So you have one of the larger models? Would depend on which graphics chip you got with it, and if you got the 15" with the higher res screen I guess.

The 360 version is probably the safest bet if you're really unsure.

Ugh the game will be good but rereading about the game has reminded me about all the casual changes they have made that are totally stupid.

I'm 50/50 on them, so happy they removed attributes and major/minor skills, but sad about the loss of speed, luck, and acrobatics.

Pickpocketing should never have existed, and they should have had a acrobatics tree.

Yeah, the passive speed stat and acrobatics are probably my two least favorite changes as well actually. I'm hoping there is still a signstone for the Steed that has the passive effect. Acrobatics though seems like a natural choice for a skill tree with the perk system; they have that one roll move in Sneak, and it feels like there could have been a bunch of neat stuff like that in an Acrobatics tree.

i'm hoping it'll still be possible to make a fast acrobatic character but. :/

What's wrong with pickpocketing? It's a skill that's fairly common in RPGs and makes sense for thief characters

I do agree that acrobatics and athletics should have stayed in the game, in addition to all the attributes.

I'm not sure I would have kept Athletics. Acrobatics is already kind of pushing it in terms of a skill that is actually holding its weight. I think the perks side of it would carry it though, there's a lot of really cool perk ideas you could slide into that tree.

Athletics is a much harder sell on its own, though I think if you combined it with something like Hand-to-Hand you could have had an interesting perk tree.

How would acrobatics or athletics have worked with their current leveling system? you would always be leveling before you wanted to because those skills are always being put to use by running, swiming, jumping, and just traversing the world. It seems to me they took those skills out because of the way they decided to go with the leveling system.

sneak is still going to be leveling all of the time. :/

I think thats only going to level if you hit someone out of stealth, or steal something.

There was nothing wrong with pickpocketing, but in the past two games it was just a part of sneak, and for some reason they decided to split it off from sneak and make it its own thing, mostly they wanted to have it, have its own tree I guess.

I think they should have made some kind of MISC tree that wasn't governed by anything, and it held acrobatics, athletics, and hand to hand combat.

Are there any pre-order bonuses for this game?
For the US, it seems like there's just the physical map. I think it's available at most retailers (at Amazon for sure). Not sure about elsewhere.

I've always assumed the health regen is really slow. I'd like to know, if you're at 5% health or so, how long it would take to refill to full if you just sat there and didn't use the "Wait" command.

Like Fjordson said, US retailers get the premium map and in with some European retailers and their Amazon locations you get the map and a 5 track OST sampler. The standard version in Australia is a LE bundle that I think comes with the premium map, collectible cards and a notebook with no upgrade necessary.

the joke, is that.

Ahahaha... I just realized I'm a retard. For some reason (too many tabs!!!) I thought I was in an Uncharted 3 thread.

Lol.

What are the chances a mock OT title would apply to two big games releasing the same month? Gotta be pretty steep.

I need to go to bed.
