Since its been brought up, i really like using the xbox controller but i want to buy the PC version for hopefully a bit of a graphical boost. Already downloaded the necessary software for the Xbox controller and plan on buying a wired one for my PC soon, is there anything i should know/expect when using a gamepad with a PC?

Has there been any footage of the PC version of the game out yet? And does anyone know if it supports 360 controller natively...not the fucking bullshit that Battlefield 3 when Dice/EA says 100% and it is a complete clusterfuck!!! <yes..am bitter at the BS from DICE/EA>

I saw Pete Hines say on Twitter a week or two ago that it has native gamepad support. Also said in the same tweet that there's going to be a preload, presumably for Steam.

Windows has all the drivers for the 360 controller (and wireless receiver) built in. The only thing you're installing is that stupid little app that tells you if your battery is getting low, and it's pretty inaccurate anyways.

360 gamepad (both wired/wireless) is pretty much the standard for all PC games, and most even have vibration effects. I expect Skyrim to be no different.

If you must have it now there are a few US sellers on eBay who are selling the receiver in the $14-$15 shipped range. At least that way you'll know it won't get lost in customs.

No, it's the same exact thing as the 360's internal receiver. You'll have to sync each device to the PC (hence the button in the center of the receiver) just like you do on the 360.

Not that far, but through walls. I have a 103' screen projected on my wall. It's easy to play 360 or PS3 with them in the other room; my PC gamepad range doesn't come close. I did just get an awesome Bluetooth mouse and keyboard, but playing with a gamepad would be fun stuff in 1080p on that screen.

I sincerely doubt it. No official indications whatsoever and Bethesda will know their modding community will go apeshit over it.

Be careful. There are TONS of aftermarket 360 controller receivers for PC, and many of them work terribly. They require special drivers from some chinese company, and flake out a lot. These receivers are ALL over the place, including Amazon. I actually believe Microsoft never sold the receiver on its own, but only with controllers. It may be guaranteed to be fake. But hey, even those seem to work for people ok at times, so you may be alright. Just wanted to give a warning to people who don't know.
