Skyrim: New(er) Screenshots and Previews

That little article is such a good example of how there can be legitimate entertainment found in game like this doing things that I would never think or have any desire to do myself during my entire playthrough.

It's that time... the few days before an elder scrolls. Knowing that I will spend hundreds of hours exploring an imaginary universe... It's that thrilling ! It's like before christmas !

The topmost one was the one I was originally going to use. The latter was one I made because that panorama screenshot was just too awesome. I'll probably use them should the OT ever reach a second or third installment.

A special release indeed. I am trying to imagine that I am on my way there and will be arriving in Skyrim next Friday. Now what other game release can make you totally geek out and think of shit like that, lol? I get excited for a lot of games, but there is just nothing quite like The Elder Scrolls. Not ashamed to admit that this series brings out the nerdiest of the nerd in me.

This would require an unnecessary amount of work, but it would be cool if the header logo was actually a gif, with most of the image being static but the dragons flying in and out of the image.

I thought of doing something like that for Arkham City. I had smoke blowing by in the banner, but it just didn't look the way I wanted so I cut it.

But yeah, it's a bit unnecessary.

I'm still brainstorming on how to incorporate Skyrim into my avatar...
 
I have been thinking about how to set up my main character for a long time...mostly laying in bed while I'm trying to fall asleep.

Anyway, I'm all ready to go. I told my girlfriend to make plans to hang with her friends on the 11th...I've requested off work for the 14th...just need to load up on snacks for the "vacation" weekend!
 
im going to do what i did when i first played oblivion, put on the lord of the rings ost's and go exploring

Some kid already has Skyrim and is streaming it on Twitch.tv. I couldn't resist and watched about 10 mins then shut it off.
 
I played Oblivion with the LOTR OST, and the music fits perfectly, but the problem is that it's not dynamic like the in-game music, so sometimes the Enya tracks would be playing as I was hacking up people or some bombastic shit would be playing as I was just walking around picking flowers. It's a little discombobulating.
 
my body is so ready. I just finished Arkham City, which was stupendously good, and now I have a week or so to fill with something. BF3 or UC3 possibly....

PC version? If yes, then put music fitting combat to combat folder etc, that way you get your dynamic music.

Yeah but the parts where it does magically sync are something to behold :D (Also the only stuff i remember)

It seems to work well in films.. a scene with over the top violence + light hearted music. Tarantino uses it to good effect. Makes the scene more impactful.

I'm imagining a blood thirsty Orc beating the snot out of a group of goblins, blood and entrails flying everywhere, while "How Much Is That Doggie In The Window" booms menacingly out of my speakers.

I also would love an answer to this. Haven't pre-ordered on steam yet (hedging my bets).

Also all this talk of LOTR reminded me it's the 10 year anniversary of FOTR (movie) this year. I feel old.

I'm guessing no. But what about animated .gif with all three banners, changing pic every 15 seconds or so?
 
This game is so beautiful at times...

Yes, I tried to register when the Witcher 2 threads were booming, but there was some sort of problem, and it took several months to the confirmation email to come. I don't even remember why I did it in the first place. :O

E: Hmm, it might have been that I was the one who posted the summary of the W2 review of finnish gamingmagazine (which was one of the first) on the witcher forums and think there was some misunderstanding in couple of things.
