You can't have 7 Wiimotes and 7 Classics. Wiimote/Pro/Classic all share the same connection, so it's up to 7 combination of those 3. So the max # of controllers on Wii U is:

-1 GamePad
-7 Wiimotes/Classic/Pro
-8 3DS
-8 GCN controller

For a total of 24.

What do have as the limiting factor for GCN controllers? Number of USB ports? Stick a USB hub on that bitch.

Speaking of that, I've found Wii Party U and its board games selection more Mario Partey than Mario Party 9. If you are looking for something similar to classic Mario Party on Wii U (until this game coming out), I can quite recommend Wii Party U.

They're spin off games from the main franchise. Other Nintendo guest stars are perfectly fine.
99% of the cast is still Mario. "Mario Kart" is still a relevant name.

They've opened the floodgates brother. Seriously though im getting tired of the Mario characters there are so many franchises that Nintendo has that can breathe life into some of these games, that some just need a subtle reboot. When you look at the Mario Kart 8 roster do we really need a slot for every koopa kid or Baby form make them alternates. Although I am more upset about PINK GOLD PEACH waste of a slot. Mario Kart 8 is amazing btw but I would like to see an entire Nintendo Kart racer after the Zelda, Excitebike, and F-Zero track.

Mario party 6 then 5 had the best box art. And were also the best games in the series.

Waaaaat???? MP5 sucked, hated it the first hour I played, unoriginal games that lasted barely half a minite. I haven't played most of the series but MP1 which I played for dozens of hours was s much better than 5. Series needs to go back to its roots.

It's weird that Mario, Peach, Luigi, & Yoshi are the only characters that have appeared in every installment in the Mario Party series. It's only now that I realize that those four are on the box art for MP10.

It's remarkable how well the N64 Mario Party games have held up, especially compared to other games from that era. The series started sucking after they took Donkey Kong out.

Mario Party 1 and 2 are legitimately some of the best times I've ever had playing games.

Played them a lot with my brother when we were younger, and with my roommates in college.

So many good memories. I love those two games. Mario Party 3 was okay but I didn't really like the boards.
