Smash Bros. Brawl delayed in Japan by a week U.S. till March 9th :((((((

I'm kinda glad SSBB is delayed.... Sure just like a lot of people I'm really looking forward to it, but the meltdowns in this thread are absolutely classic!!! Thank you Nintendo, thank you for this little bit of entertainment.... :lol

But seriously I'm disappointed but I'll be okay. At least the Japanese version is still out soon. Having all the media and game spoilers I could want will certainly make the wait easier.

Man, what a shitty way to start the day. This is reaching Twilight Princess levels of WTF Delayz?

Man, every time, I start getting pumped about a nintendo release, they bitch slap me in the face until I'm cowering under the table and then eventually slide the game across the floor to me, and I choke out a sobbing thank you.

Not even a third party character this time...
 
meh, is not that bad. i still have to finish SMG and MP3C, then NMH and enjoy Puzzle Quest.

I know, but it just sucks. This is what I got the Wii for. It was originally rumored as a release title, missed that fine. Then we got december 3rd. Yes, just in time for my 2 weeks off for my job. Missed that, aww man. Now we've got another delay. I'm in pout mode now, but I can't say I didn't expect it somewhere deep down.

It's still not like the TP delay, but it still sucks. Well. Off to my joy filled day of doing the same thing over and over and over.

That's what I want to know. And to think I just went in and preordered the game -- paid in full -- thinking it was a month away. Blaahhhhh.

The more I think about the delay discrepancy, I have a theory... It's so they can figure out the Smash Bros equivalent to snaking and ruin the online like they did to Mario Kart. :lol

A two month delay in Japan and a three month delay in the US is not "Twilight Princess levels of WTF Delayz".
 
This is bullshit, the February release date was perfect for me as it was during my spring break, this new release date is right in the middle of midterms >:(

I too am wondering why Japan gets only a week delay while stupid NA hating Nintendo delays it for a month here.
 
Actually, this will give me enough time to gather money and buy Brawl and Okami in one sweet sweep.
 
I really, really think that they'll release the original SSB on the Virtual Console within the next couple weeks as sort of a way to satiate us. (It won't be free, obviously. But it would satisfy me until the release, at least.)

It's a win-win, really.

I also told you awhile ago it was going to be delayed for marketing/business purposes, but no one listens

Its okay! I knew I was touching a vicious GAF nerve when I made the prediction, it was a tough call, but I read into what peeps were saying, what Nintendo was and wasn't doing, and I made the call preemptively to STAB THEM. It certainly wasn't guaranteed and I didn't have any inside info, so I'm not surprised peeps thought I was nuts.
 
Works out perfectly for me, since I wasn't going to get any real time with it until my spring break... which starts on March 9th.

Damned Nintendo, and their trickery.
 
Hopefully the delay means a special tin case collectors edition is incoming!! Pre-orders get an exclusive fighter!

Short on cash, so this opens up possibly buying a game I missed out on this holiday season (why, hello thar Fire Emblem). A month delay is a moot point if it's because they're polishing it up.

A shame that all those decent third party titles in March have to face this juggernaut now.
 
This is why you have to have a Japanese and US machine if you're EU, it continues to make all kinds of sense.

And, :lol at the delay..., bound to happen really. So nobody expect MKWii until at least summer.
 
Terrible news, hopefully the delay is to put an American-exclusive character to sell to the American casual joesixpack market.

If by summer then you mean Nintendo big holiday season title that'll release in November, then yes.
