Smash Bros Brawl Dojo Official Update Thread: Goodbye, Cherry-don

My early memories of Mario 64 are all distorted for some reason.

I didn't have the game when I played it the first time... I remember finding a door which should be right beside the one of the first level and entering in a room with several random objects, like a giant banana and random crates. There also was an infinite staircase like the one before Bowser's last level.

Then I remember trying to find that room after buying the game, but with no success. It's obvious now that it doesn't exist, but it's still weird how vividly I remember finding it.

Anyway, I predict a music update.

I remember Mario 64 for the first time, 6 am in the morning sitting in my Kitchen playing on a 13 inch TV, those were the days, I played for 3 hours until other family members woke up.
Oh yeah Mario 64 was amazing. I remember when all the ToysRus stores had the demo before the N64 was released. The demo area was packed with people. People were sitting on the floor waiting to play. I remember some lady walked by, looked at SM64 and said, "Wow that looks like virtual reality"! :D

anyone remember this old thing?

Super Smash Bros. Brawl:

-Players will be able to choose from multiple control options. Main focus is on GC controller, and Nintendo is currently considering redistribution of them. (Good, I can’t find wavebirds anywhere. I hope this means I can just use the remote and nunchuck, he wouldn’t say.)
-No motion-sensitive controls in main game. (Does that mean mini-games etc. will?)
-Game will feature no more than 50 characters. (Gee, thanks a lot. I didn’t know that already )
-“Since there’s a huge fan-demand for online play, the game will almost definitely feature it. That’s the plan. We pay a lot more attention to the fans than you would think, and we think it would be pretty dumb to ignore it. What’s funny is if we had never addressed the rumor, people wouldn’t be so expectant of it as they are.” (Thank god, hopefully an end to the “This better be online or I’m not buying it” stuff.)
-They wouldn’t tell me any new specific characters. (Just thought I’d get that in there.)
“Fans will be extremely pleased with the quality and number of characters we’ve brought around, as we made this very much a fan-desire project. There won’t be anymore ‘clones’ (just thought I should mention, he did the finger quote thing, and I literally lol’d) either. -There are definitely characters that will be huge surprises too, one of which happens to be my absolute favorite.” (Thanks for the cliffhanger. Wait…so no more clones? What about…)
-Not all characters will return. All of the original smash bros. will. (Oh…bye Roy (one of my mains.))
-Alternate Costumes/Color Schemes will be included. (Hot sauce. I’ll take white Zora Link please.)
-No comment on third parties. (Damn you.)
-The game has been made “more balanced”. (Cool. No more tiers? Ummm…idk if I like this yet.)
-N64 like intros. (lol)
No comment on “advanced techniques”. (I’m mediocre at that stuff anyway, so, I’m neutral on this.)
-There will be new items, and some have been taken out. (Bob-ombs confirmed, don’t worry.)
-Super Smash Attacks are not immediately activated, can be reserved. (Well, now that I think about it…duh.)
-Adventure mode will be much larger, classic mode will be featured. (No word on if chars. Would have individual stories)
-Will include more game modes, some from N64 will return. (Due to popular demand, apparently.)
-Events will be included. (I love those things, so to me it’s awesome.)
-This game is scheduled to release this year. (My guess is Fall.)
-No comment on shoot the credits.

most of it is coming true, except the release date. :/

My rotating avatar has been temporarily locked down on Mario in honor of his second coming. Not quite as awesome as some of the others (Akai yours is a work of art) but I do what I can.

I'm joining the Mario army too.

Mmmm? A S&P assist trophy? That's awesome news.

Teasel really has no goddamn idea what he's talking about. Saki has been confirmed by multiple sources, some with very detailed descriptions of his character and effects. Also Nintendo does own the Sin and Punishment IP - Treasure was the developer, but it's Nintendo's franchise.

Also, wasn't Nintendo credited as "co-developer" on Sin and Punishment, even back in the day? For what it's worth, NoA's Bill Trinen shows up in the credits for the translation. And I'm not talking about just the recent (and partially localized) VC release, but also on my original N64 cart from years ago.

If this were GameFAQs, this would spawn a ten page discussion about you having played some unheard of beta version of the game with everyone else claiming to have seen stuff that's not in the final version.

Thankfully, this is not GameFAQs.

My first time with Mario 64 was at a Wal-Mart demo station. The game was at Whomp's Fortress. I was running around fighting Piranha Plants and getting my butt kicked by Whomps. Good times.

My first time playing SM64 was in what passes for a Toys R Us in Israel (I think there were only like 2 in the whole country, and having grown up in the US, I wept for shit store that passed for a TRU). Man, the pricetag on the console was the equivalent of $600-700. Ugh. Games were about $125 a pop. And converted to local currency, it was actually more, relatively speaking!

We have to wait for SSBB to be released, to find out if it was fake. :D
Pretty much. We wont/cant know.
But for something that was done in May. It has some pretty impressive legs for a "fact sheet" post that generally crumbles to the wayside after a few JapanTime updates.

If that image has changed, I'm sorry. It's SUPPOSED to be the "DK punching folks out" video.

WHY are people saying that's DK smashing a Koopa Troopa to bits? It's obviously supposed to be DK smashing a Koopa into the ground, much like his "smash into the ground" SSBM attack. That's flying dirt you see, not flying Koopa bits. The Koopa Troopa ends up partially submerged, arms and head sticking out from the ground, wiggling.

I think it's time for a character update. Most likely a veteran, either Captain Falcon or Ganondorf.

It'll probably be the Star Fox Nova Bomb though.

I edited the sonic one for the super effect. Up for grabs or use or whatever :D.

As I see it there are three possibilities tonight assuming it's a character. If it's an old character it will be Captain Falcon. If it's a new character it will be Olimar. If I had to take a flier on a random character it COULD be I'll predict Ashley.

Prediction: Assist trophy (prob. Advance Wars or Metroid). Hope it's a character, but somehow don't believe it will be :(
My brain says your probaly right, but my heart says your wrong. :(

Predicting we won't get a character, just so that we can have had a ten-day character profile drought, as we've never had before. :(

Edit: Predicting Fire Emblem music, though. That'll be awesome. :D
