The Ridley-size argument again? Anyway, I think the biggest problem with designing a playable Ridley would be more in his movement. Call me crazy, but his gangly dragon-body doesn't seem very well-suited to Smash Bros. hop-n-bop gameplay, and his wings are awfully big. I'm trying to imagine his run animation. :lol Weird.

That said, it would be incredible if they could find a way to make it work.
 
Where is all this Krystal hate coming from? Did she screw up Star Fox Command or something? I don't remember making a big deal about her in SF Adventures.

I say that if we get another character from Star Fox, might as well make it her. She'd be different enough (hopefully). Though I'm sure all of the Falco fans are going to rail on me for suggesting that Fox and Falco are similar.
 
Don't worry to much about it. Say your peace and leave it at that. They tend to get pissy on this subject every few days, and then they calm down. It's kinda like a clock.

I think it's mostly because, unlike just about every other Nintendo character in the game, she has gained this popularity (mostly via creepy furries) while having never actually appeared in a good game, or having any interesting characteristics to warrant her popularity.

I can't say that I'm all that interested in her being playable; she's not that big a deal, I think the cult status around her is really weird, and I'd rather the Smash Bros. team focus on bringing characters from untouched franchises into the game (something I haven't seen a whole lot of so far).

Yeah... I think it is just the weirdos that come with Krystal that make some people hate her so much... I guess. *shrug*

Ouch. We've got some bigtime punishments here. Heh. This is gonna get interesting when people come LTTP, title changes... and tries to stir something interesting...
 
So...what's the deal with this ban and is it in place or not? I just skimmed through the thread and saw that some people saying the word got banned (see: Zeed and others) and some didn't. (see: Mike G.E.D. and others) Is it for real or not? (and if it's not, what did Zeed and them get banned for?)

If they didn't get banned it's because I didn't see it.

There is a ban, and the length of that ban grows longer by the hour.
 
Sp0rsk won a bet on whether someone would appear today or not. It was a bet that even those of normal minds could see would not be won. The terms of said bet were that anyone mentioning said person wold be banned. The bet stays in effect until said person is announced. Read the title if you need further help.

Anyway, I really hope we get a new character soon, or at least difficulty sliders.

We really do need a new character update though. I'll go with Krystal or Olimar. He'd be fun to play as, with his pikmin-throwing antics. It would be cool if you could use the C stick to direct the Pikmin (instead of using it for smash attacks, like the other characters), but it won't happen thanks to the C stick not being standard anymore. His forward special move could be a pikmin toss ala yoshi's egg toss. Here's hoping.
 
For the first time I don´t expect anything tomorrow... today´s update broke my heart.
It would have been a cool update(IC final smahs is cool and the text is quite humorous) if it weren´t for the hype of you know what...

and now that Zeed is gone, this thread will be much quieter...

Could it be the ending of Megatons?
 
sporsk, can I get some compensation for (unknowlingly) selling out my fellow forum goers? If I'm going to be the little kid who has to sit at his own cafeteria table while being given the eye, I expect something positive from it.

So anyways, about the Ice Climber's final smash...


I wonder how long the iceberg will stay there, and how it will work on scrolling stages like Rumble Falls, Delfino Plaza, and the Halberd.

Oh and obviously Simon is going to be in Smash to defend Castlevania as well as the rest of Videoland. Sakurai just doesn't want to confirm the Captain N ties yet.

If Midna is indeed in the game it will most likely be as an assist trophy. She just doesn't have a great deal of characteristic moves to suggest otherwise.
 
I completely forgot to make a comment about the Ice Climber's Final Smash...

I remember that when the Ice Climber's stage was revealed, some people complained about it and said that it'd be better if everyone was fighting on the Iceberg's center/top. However, I think this Final Smash clearly shows why that didn't happen.

Edit: I'm starting to believe that we'll have no character updates in november too, but I'd like to be wrong.

Really, at least, I'd like to know more about the Classic mode... for SSBM, its basic features were unveiled at E3, but, now, we know nearly nothing about it besides some of the opponent selection pattern.
 
i'm going to go out on a limb and predict a midna assist trophy. though to make her a totally different character with two forms ala zelda would be very interesting as well.

secondary guess is my mainstay: Captain Falcon

Bad game design is what's wrong with StarFox, not the characters. It's not her fault that nobody can make a decent game with her in it. I think.
