Smash Bros Brawl Dojo Official Update Thread: Goodbye, Cherry-don

So this is it then, this is what we get this morning? Not only does Sp0rsk win (Fragile dreams, how easily they are crushed), but we get an Ice Climbers update, which for me is about as much as a non-update as handicaps was. All in all, a good monday spanking.
 
I wonder if some of the more recent boring updates weren't planned to be updates at all? I mean, when they first said, let's do this website, it was going to launch in December, and now suddenly they need two months more of material, so we're getting more filler? Maybe?

FUCK YEAH! This thread had really been hitting the shits lately. Well I guess it doesn't help that the Dojo updates have been so so-so lately :x
 
Seeing characters final smashes is pretty interesting yet so many people are expecting something wild like a character that everyone just gets all pissed off.

While basic item updates are boring, final smash and stage ones are worth it.

In the top-right hand quarter of ANY post, there's a number. Click it to see just that individual post. Change the number in the url of the resulting page to the number you want to see.

I don't think so. They're probably just former double updates which got split. The only unexpected update so far was the one about handicaps...

It think that's obviously the case.

Rather than space them out, they might just carry on like this till the new year and save all the big ones for closer to the release date to build the momentum.

I'm sure they'll chuck us a frickin bone for Christmas atleast though ...
 
I was a princess zelda (note zelda and not sheik), princess toadstool, and luigi whore in SBM. They were all really flashy characters. Flaming dragon punch>you.

Princess Toadstool? You mean Peach? I haven't heard her called that since she was captured by King Koopa.

BTW, King Koopa is still a better name than Bowser. So's Princess Toadstool now that I think about it.

I do think we'll get some Metroid boss and some Kirby boss (I'd be surprised at Whispy Woods, though, since Rayquaza's way over his level and seems to come pretty early), but that's exactly why I'm not expecting the boss rush mode--which will be in--to get an update until a lot closer to release. They wouldn't want to spoil too many of the fights...

Agreed. I despise playing against the Ice Climbers. They force you to take on annoying hit-and-run strategies to avoid being smacked in the face by Nana, and you can just forget about grabbing for the same reason. They are just super annoying and unfun to play against.

Yeah, I hate when a game has a diverse character roster that forces you to come up with different strategies for beating your opponents. I much prefer a game where the same techniques can be used universally to equally good effect.
 
Yes, if Rayquaza is a fairly early boss, then having Whispy Woods represent Kirby would be a little disappointing. I'd expect to see Kracko as the Kirby boss, because somebody like Nightmare or Dark Matter would be a bit too advanced for anything but a final boss. (Unless Dark Matter's the villain. :D )

However, Sakurai might want the Kirby boss to tie into the Halberd. So we might get Heavy Lobster, the Combo Cannon, or the Halberd's reactor.

Yup I totally agree, final smash updates are awesome. I want to see Zelda's next! :D
 
I wouldn't say Final Smashes are bad, but some are definitely more interesting than others. For example, Ike and the Ice Climbers' Final Smashes are somewhat boring, but there have been some intriguing ones. I look forward to seeing Lucas' Final Smash, at least. I'd take a stage, Assist Trophy, or music over a Final Smash, though.

So who do I have to thank for the new tag? :lol
 
I'd take a final smash over normal items, Poke Balls, and How To Play (except new mechanics like the footstool jump), but that's about it. I even prefer the special moves--I'd rather know about three moves I'll use all the time than a single super move I won't use that often. >_>

You know, you could blame sp0rsk and Angelo about equally. Blame sp0rsk for starting the ridiculous bet or blame Angelo for taking the ridiculous bet. Angelo's just easier to shun, though, because he's not a mod.

A Cloud Mii would be my new Training Mode dummy. I can see people using a sp0rsk one. Especially Angelo.

Actually, what would be cool is the ability to replace Sandbag with a Mii of your choice in the Home Run Contest...
