Smash Bros Brawl Dojo Official Update Thread: Goodbye, Cherry-don

Of course, there is no X stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, but this time, the songs in Smash Bros. aren’t limited only to those series represented by characters and stages. We’ve pulled some that are from completely unrelated games.

Can you expect to hear this song or that song? You’ll just have to wait and see
.
Nice! This game is gonna have a massive fucking soundtrack

I wonder what stage the song will be in.

Also, they should have a "random games stage", one that keeps transforming into various obscure nintendo games. Like the wario ware nintendo mode. X would be in it

Good point. :D

Something some people might not like:
If your opponent is way better then you and way ahead of you, it can happen that you appear on stage already glowing and ready to do a Final SMash :lol
If they're way better than me, they're going to win regardless. Shouldn't make a difference. (And it can be turned off with the item switch anyway.)

I noticed a subtle discrepancy between USA and UK/Ireland sites:

Even if someone has it,
all it takes is some aggressive offense...!

VS.

Even if someone gets it,
attack is often the best form of defence!

A WINNER IS
SAKURAAAAAAI

I'd love an update detailing My Music - basically adding onto my CDs idea, but being more realistic and just explaining CD acquiring, applying music to levels (for instance, maybe we could play Star Fox Armada level w/ Balloon Fight music?)

It wont matter in close matches though since it wont happen

Has the Pity Final Smash been mentioned before? The song is really cool, too.

I think it got lost in all the impressions for Brawl at E for all.

But people will like the idea of not having Smash Balls appear. Those Pity Smash Balls might be unbalancing for tournament play.

They must've run out of updates, because now they're just explaining bullshit we've known for months now.
At least we got new music and its music that NOBODY would have fucking guess obviously and confirmed good news for people who want to turn off smash balls along with news of having random songs in the game that dont need levels or characters.

Cool song update! It's great to see them pulling music from such obscure games, since one can never have too manny tunes.

This is also the second song by Yusuke Takahama to appear on the site (he did the Metroid: Boss Battle (Ridley) music as well). Have we had two tracks with the same arranger on the site before? It makes me wonder how many each of these guys are doing

I guess he knew all that stuff already. :lol

Well I liked the update. The Final Smash is one aspect of this game I'm really looking forward too. if the game couldn't have gotten more satisfying... nothing like letting lose with a Zero Laser or Land Master.

oh and I wonder how he'll implement ZSS selectable. Like sheik/zelda from melee?

Naw. There will likely be a 1-time suit change opportunity at the beginning of the battle (in the tradition of Zelda).

its essentially the same thing, but it'd just be better to put them seperately on the screen.

By the way. does Samus in essence get two final smashes? I mean since ZSS wasn't selectable in the E for all demo, yet we saw her FS, the only way that could've happened is Samus got a FS, then got another one as ZSS...

I don't see how. If you're getting your ass kicked to the point where you get a Pity Final Smash, you're not going to win anyway.

Anyway, it's not like the tourney crowd was ever going to allow Smash Balls or any other items into tourney play.

Well I say since music can come from games that may not have representation in Brawl with characters or stages and Mitsuda is a contributor, I say bring on the Chrono Trigger theme.

-December 5th brings the 24th double+ update. ("Double+" because triple updates are included here, while stealth "doubles" such as Lakitu, Replays, and the Hyrule Temple music aren't.)

-How to play and music advance to 18 updates a piece, leading them to tie once again with final smashes and stages as the fourth-most-common type of update. Those four types and game modes have been so, so very frequent in these past four weeks...

-Nothing else changes, really, except we're now 29 days without a character and there are only 36 days of updates remaining until the Japanese release.

-Oh, and Wednesday continues to be generally awesome. Even when everything else is bad, Wednesday prevails.

A megaton will come on Feburary 10th believe me.
Ideally a midnight release of the game one hour after the update. (It would be advertised beforehand by the stores, of course, but still. :D)

STFU, man, it's only "sucky" because it doesn't make you feel nostalgic >:<
Funny thing is, this song actually does make me feel nostalgic even though I've never heard it. Reminds me of some kind of 2D space shooter.
Edit: I wrote this before I saw you people talking about X being a shooter. Srsly.

Thanks for the stats Jiggy! I'm still holding out hope for a new character reveal this week! :D

I'd say what series the music reminds me of, but I don't want to get banned. Not saying anything about who is in what game, just saying that's what the music reminds me of.

I like it.

They're really awesome and interesting, though. Trending shows that we should get either a character (best kind of update!) or how to play (worst kind of update!). But I have a feeling we'll see something less common, even rarer than the next tier of common Wednesday updates (stages, assist trophies, game modes and final smashes). My guess is... music.

Holy crap I guessed right. We got a how to play and a song!

is this game going to have a midnight release or will we not know this? I really want to play this as early as possible. Make me wait an extra day for Galaxy... *grumbles*

Ha beat you to it

This is the first I can remember hearing about the Pity Final Smash.

The music update is interesting at least six times over:

1. Because it's good.
2. Because it's yet another Kazumi Totaka piece and I'd like to believe that his song is hidden in the game somewhere.
3. Because it reconfirms that several of the music choices are based on popular demand (someone post a list of the rest if you would be so kind).
4. Because it opens the floodgates for any good song from any Nintendo game ever.
5. Because it all of these unattached songs have to go somewhere, so the stages and alternate music once more aren't always going to match up.
6. Because it reconfirms that SSBB is going to have the largest soundtrack of any Nintendo game ever.

And here I thought you guys would be pumped on...
A) We got a new song,
B) This new song pretty much means any game's music can make this game of awesome...
C) Pity smash was new news for me (but apparently people already knew about this?)

Although I see I'm not alone in people "who thought they knew their stuff" and didn't know about the Pity Smash...

*shrug*

Why won't the english site load?

Oh, and turning off FS? : /

I was hoping to see what the tournament scene would do with FS'. I guess I'll never see it now.
