I hope this doesn't mean anything.
What you talking about?

I also just noticed that in the top pic from the Screenshot update the purple box is blurred out... Maybe it is the replay select box?

No, i don't think it is. Just think about the layout. If it was a replay box, how would it work? would it replace all the pics at the top with saved replays? Then all the menu buttons at the bottom would correspond with replay sending instead? I think the screenshot and replay sections look the same

I wonder what it could be now that we know it isn't the replay feature. It would have to be something to do with photos, but I can't think what....

I'm saying most likely would be edit with putting those stickers you get on em. Unlikely but could be an upload to WiFi Connection and have a top rated list or something..

Im bad photo shop...could some1 make one for me :$
Ask someone in the SMG official thread, I'm sure someone will do it.

Cool. Replays and online sharing of 'em? That's a neat little addition. Looks like this game will be the complete package. It seems to be filled with oodles of nifty little features that, inidividually, aren't huge big deals, but taken together, start to amount to quite a bit of extra content outside the main modes.

Christ. i cant believe you mouthbreathers are complaining!

A month ago we didnt even have online.

Now we have a feature that no fighter has, and you're not happy! What would possibly satisfy you?!

3. The game’s assist trophies — Nintendo-themed bonus characters that can be used to supplement your attacks — include the girl from “Sin & Punishment.” I know this because I threw an assist trophy capsule and out she jumped, gunning down the enemy characters.
So it's fine for an Assist Trophy to use real guns, but not a playable character (Snake)? I see... Or does Sin and Punishment include some kind of futuristic ray guns? I haven't had the time (or money) to play it on VC yet, so I'm ignorant of these things.

Also, after reading it again, it only seems obvious to me that replay will work like this:
1. You play a match / Stadium game session.
2. At the finish, the game gives you the option to review the full replay.
3. Within the reviewing of the replay, the game allows you to pick and choose how much of it you'd like to record/save permanently (up to around 3 minutes worth, to the Wii memory or an SD card).
4. That 3 or less minutes worth of footage is saved, and the rest of that match / game session is lost. These saved clips then can be moved between Wii memory and SD cards, sent to friends, or erased.
(I realize that was possibly obvious to most of you, but I hope it helps those to whom it wasn't.)

Yeah, the shots in S&P are bright starburst-shaped... things. No idea what they're supposed to be, but they're not bullets.

my guess is the purple box is some sort of "submit" to a channel that posts funny screenshots form around the world and replays aren't allowed to be submitted to the channel

I don't want to believe that the lack of character updates is due to the delay, but it is sure lookin like it. I mean, with 40+ characters you would think it wouldn't be a problem to reveal the remaining vets and just get it over with. :P

It would be a problem, even with 40+ characters (a rather unlikely number), if he isn't revealing unlockables before the release date.

The history of megatons and Dojo updates

Megatons by general consensus:

May 22nd - The Musicians
June 8th - Four Kinds of Control
July 2nd - What is an Assist Trophy?
August 3rd - What is the Subspace Emissary?
August 13th - Pokemon Trainer
September 7th - My Music
September 18th - Wi-Fi Play
October 5th - Team (co-op adventure mode)
October 10th - Sonic
October 24th - (stealth) Replays
Nice job with that Jiggy! Can't wait for the next megaton to hit! :D

Well since sakurai reads these boards is confirmed since he pretty much gives us everything we want, I will predict...

I predict Square char megatonz!

I'll predict new character tonight as well...Ridley! :D

to be honestly, I would be kind of disappointed if Ridley was a playable character in Brawl, I would rather just have a large boss character in the adventure mode.

The character will probably come Friday as it usually does.
Sounds like time for statistics.

Monday characters: Fox, Zelda, Pokemon Trainer, Lucas
Tuesday characters: Bowser, Yoshi
Wednesday characters: Mario, Link, Wario, Ike, Diddy Kong, Meta Knight, Sonic
Thursday characters: Kirby, Pikachu, Donkey Kong, Zero Suit Samus
Friday characters: Pit, Samus, Peach, Ice Climbers, Snake

Veterans: 12
Newcomers: 10
Newcomers not known from E3 2006: 5

Totals:

Monday: 18.2%
Tuesday: 9.1%
Wednesday: 31.8%
Thursday: 18.2%
Friday: 22.7%

Veterans:

Monday: 16.6%
Tuesday: 16.6%
Wednesday: 16.6%
Thursday: 25%
Friday: 25%

Newcomers:

Monday: 20%
Tuesday: 0%
Wednesday: 50%
Thursday: 10%
Friday: 20%

Newcomers not known from E3 2006:

Monday: 40%
Tuesday: 0%
Wednesday: 60%
Thursday: 0%
Friday: 0%

We're out of newcomers known from E3, and Friday is the safer pick there. But I'm expecting a veteran to follow up on the most recent character, Sonic, and that puts Thursday and Friday on par.

I'll say... Captain Falcon tonight. I want it to be Jigglypuff, though, but I'd sooner predict Captain Falcon at the moment since we still haven't had another F-Zero update since the first one on July 2nd. Crazy.
