to be honestly, I would be kind of disappointed if Ridley was a playable character in Brawl, I would rather just have a large boss character in the adventure mode.

Ridley would make a great playable character. Assuming each franchise gets at least one boss, then there are plenty of Metroid bosses that would be cool in Brawl.

I know it'll be Ridley or Kraid, but I'd prefer Phantoon myself.

You know, I'm feeling a lot less confident about an Animal Crossing character since the PictoChat update. Before that update, we've never had a Franchise Icon in smash history unaccompanied by a playable character.

Well... I really doubt the DS icon is going to have a playable character. Seems like a safe bet that stages can have their own icons just for themselves... which makes it seem like Smashville itself might be the AC rep...

I think the DS (Touch Generations) Icon will have a character. It'll be a surprise weird character like Game & Watch.

The problem with that though, is the DS icon is from a platform, not a franchise. Same kinda thing with Touch Generations - it's a grouping of multiple franchises.

People will say someone like Dr. Kawashima, but wouldn't his franchise be Brain Training? .. He'd have a Brain Training icon, not a DS icon.

You could also say that Game & Watch was a similar situation... but all the G&W games more or less featured the same character (type). They could almost be considered all spin-offs of eachother.

I dunno, ANYTHING is possible in the crazy land of Sakurai and co., but it doesn't seem all that likely to me.

I think the series is Touch Generations but they are using the DS icon because it is more well known and standard worldwide. In the music section they have Mii, Wii shop channel, Brain Training,ect. I think this series is basically "non-games" aka Touch Generations
