Actually, a duck hunt stage where you could shoot other character with the Wii pointer would be hilarious.
And the people complaining about the focus on the Gamecube controller would finally have something to be happy about.

I wonder who you could consider the 'badguys' here.

I'm kind of curious on how these 3rd party deals were worked out business wise so far. It doesn't make a whole lot of since for them to pay Nintendo to put them in the game, even for 'advertising'. I also couldn't see Nintendo rushing out willing to pay people to put their characters in the game, the game is going to sell regardlessly. Still most likely it would seem that Nintendo would be paying others either a small flat fee or low royalities for using the character licenses(although the way Konami was acting they practically begged Nintendo to put Snake in, so maybe not). I guess either Nintendo cheaped out or Capcom wanted more of the pie.

Or I guess we could be getting a different character all together. Let the baseless speculation and nonsense continue!... or not.

It's probably a "you scratch my back I'll scratch yours" situation. IE - if you let us put Character X in your game, we will let you make a game using one of our IPs. Even if it turns out half-good, a game with a Nintendo IP franchise will sell fairly well. For example (and this is just an example), if Konami allows Snake in Smash Bros, Nintendo might look favorably on this and grant them the right to make Zelda game (sorta like when Flagship made some handheld Zelda titles), which is sure to bring in mad cash to both Konami and Nintendo.

Such a situation would only be benificial for gamers as well. Its always nice to get a differing take on a game series. You got me thinking what a Kojima made Zelda would be like.:lol

Actually what I'd really wish for on that note is a Nintendo made Sonic. Hum. That would be nice..

I'd pretty happily take a Konami-developed 2D Metroid if it was the only way we could get another one. Nintendo's made some great decisions and some not-at-all great decisions for outsourcing in the past--F-Zero to Amusement Vision and Zelda to Flagship being good, Star Fox to Namco being not.

Yes, we've got to end this god forsaken drought!

I'm banking on C. Falcon again, for old times sake? I know he has to be in this one! :D

Smart Bomb and training mode

item12_071120a.jpg

This familiar item is from the Star Fox series. Those who have played those games can imagine how this bomb explodes.

Throw the Smart Bomb, Fox!

item12_071120c-l.jpg

Don’t get caught in the explosion, Fox!

item12_071120d-l.jpg

Hurry, Fox! Run!

This fearsome item practically covers entire stages in a massive, engulfing explosion. It’s best to try to use it in a spot that leaves few places for enemies to flee. Or something like that.

It does seem that they occasionally fail to explode. You might throw it, only to watch it not detonate. In those cases, you’ll want to be careful, because you never know when it might go off.

Speaking of duds, certain Pokémon that explode also sometimes fail to detonate.

Pssssssst.

==============================================

If you brawl for a long time, there is one thing you will definitely start to think: "What can I do to polish up my skills?"

For that, I’ve brought back the training mode to help you get to know the characters.

At first glance, nothing about this screen seems unusual.

Bothersome displays are hidden at first. The settings screen appears when you pause the game.

Oh! There it is!

various13_071120c-l.jpg

You can produce lots of items.

You can put in three computer opponents, and jack their damage meters way up.

various13_071120e-l.jpg

And you can see how much damage different combos do.

You can even put it in slow motion.
(But...you can’t tell that from a screenshot!)

You need to know the moves, whether you’re trying to hit with them or avoid them – this is especially true of Final Smashes.

This mode is particularly helpful with that.

well then post a video :|
not the worse update, I really hope we get a character update this week.
