Smash Bundle (Game+Controller+Adapter) seemingly out of stock everywhere.

My bundle with best buy says ready for pickup. Most likely midnight release. But if I got the email I would so to the store right now
Edit. Nvm. Got the pickup email for 21st. But I'm sure theres a midnight release. Gonna call them

Thanks so much for this. I cancelled my Amazon order of the bundle because I had a $60 Walmart gift card that would save me a ton if I bought it there. Unfortunately not a single store in my area has these adapters but through this Walmart pre-order I'm able to get it shipped to my house tomorrow.
 
I called Best Buy. They said the system said that the game was ready to be picked up?

Fuck it. Going on my lunch break to see what's going on.
 
Just to give you guys some hope, at the tiny Best Buy I work at we got in about 10 copies of the bundle and a chunk of controllers and adapters, despite preorders being sold out. I would definitely call or show up the morning off if you were unable to pre-order
 
Does anyone know where I'd be able to pick up just the adapter tomorrow? Wal-Mart isn't accepting preorders for it in-store, which tells me I won't be able to just walk in and get it, and the closest store pickup option is an hour away.

I live in Austin too, but ordered for delivery and haven't seen anything like this yet. Should I be worried?
 
I'm planning on trying to find an adaptor for sale in the afternoon on Friday, I hope that they haven't severely undershipped it to the point where only preorders get it.

Unless you ordered with express shipping, it's not guaranteed release day delivery.

My girlfriend did. She just texted me and told me it says it is being prepared now. So this is a good sign.

Best Buy doesn't open for another 20 minutes or so, so I went ahead and ordered it from Wal-Mart. I'll call them when they open and find out what the chances are of my picking up an adapter tomorrow morning. I'm probably just gonna wait out the shipment, though.

I'm glad I live near a Toys R Us, Target, Micro Center, Walmart, GameStop, and Best Buy because if my preorder from Best Buy doesn't arrive tomorrow to my house, I'm gonna need to go to one of those stores. I might do that in the morning before work actually just to be on the really safe side. Worst case scenario is that all of those stores sold out of the game. I pray that doesn't happen. I don't even care if I have to buy the game and adapter separately, I need it tomorrow!

...Although, on the site it says "ready to pickup" now. This is my first time pre-ordering from BB, do they do midnight releases?

I normally wouldn't care about getting the accessories day one, but my wife and I are having 15 friends over for a thanksgiving potluck on Saturday. Want to be prepared.
 
Still waiting for my Best Buy e-mail... I thought I was assured a bundle on release day, but my status says "confirming inventory at location" or something like that right now. I'll be pretty pissed if I ordered too late. (At least I still have my Target reserve card, but that's only for the game itself and not the bundle).

i don't have a car to test this out. but i printed out the email for the pickup. wanted to go when the store opens so no one there who may work in games or know about it are wise enough lol.

Try clicking the grayed out "track package" button on Your Orders if it's there. I thought my adapter wasn't sent yet because the button wasn't yellow but apparently it went out with the game in the same shipment yesterday. When clicked it showed the "we've received your order" spiel quickly then switched to tracking information.

edit: The game is listed as "Pre-ordered" with a yellow tracking button and the adapter is "Not yet shipped" with a gray tracking button. I think maybe it's wonky because it's a pre-order? Regular orders have never done that for me.
 
For people whose orders are "ready to pick up," I would assume Best Buy is like many other major stores and the register won't allow an employee to sell an item before its street date.
 
My Amazon order hasn't shipped yet either. It's says guaranteed delivery by the 21st but I'm still worried.

Dammit I held off on 3ds Smash just for this. Don't do this to meeeeeeeee!

I was able to pick up my MK8 the day before and they didn't say anything.

However they didn't let me get my SSB3DS early.

I will probably try to get this early today anyway...because I'm impatient like that. :P

Yeah I was just guessing, but I would totally try it too if it told me it was ready lol.
 
Got an email from Best Buy about my pre-orders. Listed both copies of the bundle as well as the Amiibos I got for pick-up tomorrow. Weirdly enough, my Villager Amiibo wasn't listed and is listed on the website as one of the December releases. I'm just going to assume that's an error on their part.

Oh hey, you're right, my order is shipped and has a working tracking number if I click the grey box, so I guess it's just a site glitch.

Well, actually, Amazon's "What's in your box" menu doesn't list my order number for the adapter in it (it was a separate order from the rest). I'm kind of confused...

edit: Try customer support. A frenchman suggested I should and now I'm getting it early (though maybe it would have went out early anyway).

Yeah, we're talking about that over in the Wii U POTD thread, as well. Looks like the Villager's totally flown the coop off of bestbuy.com... not sure what's up with that!
