Every time I was annoyed with one of his posts I'd put him on the ignore list, even though it wouldn't allow it to go through. It feels good to have it stick.

Also, duckroll is best mod

Thread was only 6 pages in 3 days. This thread is 7 pages in a few hrs. I used to be able to read the entire forum first page (which was pretty much all the new posts) in one sitting (pre-neo).

I enjoyed the fact that Amirox was so passionate whilst being a mod. Kinda OTT with his opinions but at least be backed them up with reasons. Also the only mod who seemed to let people he was arguing with know that yes, in fact, you are a zealot for this system or that system. Not ban them for it, just let them know that its entirely obvious to everyone so stop pretending to react this way out of a genuine rational thought process.

Editing peoples posts is never cool for a mod to do unless its to remove offensive, bannable stuff (really personal info, graphic images etc.).
 
If I had to list my favorite mods the list would probably be something like this...

Eatchildren
Bish

This is some pretty crazy stuff. I never would have expected the bit about shared mod accounts or the information leaks from either of them.

I'm also amazed at how much stuff Costanza has injected himself into lol.

Helped me a few times with some of the things to edit (out of my control) of the Mortal Kombat OT. :)
 
I can't help but feel like we're in a small town-hall meeting discussing this de-modding, given props to the Mods and such. lol I'm just glad to know the Moderators can mod themselves to keep each other on the better and objective side of things.
 
He was a very good poster, but he often took it too far and said dumb crap or totally derailed threads, but I appreciated his irreverence towards popular games and the effort he put into posting on GAF. It's kinda sad to see people jump all over him like this, but I guess it was inevitable.
 
I quite like his confrontational posting style, but when mixed with his obsessive nature over certain hot topics that set him off it caused endless thread derailments. You'd learn to ignore those hot topics and not push him on them, but when you are getting new juniors all the time it would always spark off.

I thought the other interesting revelation in the de-modding thread was that he had a 3DS but had *never* tried the 3D. I mean, really? Not even once to see what it's like?

If you are that obsessive about something in real life, that isn't going to work well as a mod when people will have different opinions. It explains a lot of the rants and how he could be like a dog with a bone about it.
 
All the mod love in this thread has made me realize the only mods I know of are Evillore, Bish, Duckroll, EatChildren and Blackace. I think it is a testament to how well gaf is run in general because thing run smoothly for the most part and i rarely ever notice any moderation has occurred at all.

None of the Admins/Mods really bother me.

Never got into a debate with him myself (as far as I can recall), but Amir0x was a lot of fun, even if I rarely agreed with or felt as strongly about the points he was arguing/defending.

Plus his taste in TV shows was usually pretty awesome.
 
Amir0x is ok, I agree with him on a lot of stuff (like religion), but the way he argues is very direct and I can see and understand how this happened.

He is a good poster, but was not a good mod.

But for the record, I have no problem with the viewing angles for 3D on the 3DS. I will take a lie detector test to prove it.
 
Damn that was some cold and calculated work by kato, kept his cool and squeezed the trigger at the moment of guaranteed annihilation.

The forum-fu is strong with that one.

Amir0x: YOU'RE GONNA HAVE TO DO BETTER THAN THAT. How did you enjoy it? It's terrible. There's no possible way you could have enjoyed it unless you're lying or trolling.

Amir0x: THIS ISN'T HELPING DISCUSSION. I am not LEARNING anything through your incorrect opinions! I want to talk to you pathetic people to get my eyes opened on how you can be so WRONG about something.

In the meantime, the thread stops focusing on being a conversation about the subject at hand, and instead a conversation about Amir0x's opinion on the subject at hand.
 
I agree that he makes a great addition to the forum (livens thing up you know), but he wasn't quite fit to be a mod for the various reasons already posted. I hope he doesn't take it too personally and keeps posting though.
 
I didn't expect it, but now that it has happened I'm not at all surprised. It's nice that this board has some standards for moderators.

Hearing how it happened, I can't help but to laugh. If you're going to lie, don't be a bitch about it.

You absolutely nailed it. The being an overly aggressive 'debater' is one thing, but there are only so many derailed threads about Ami's opinion that GAF should take.
 
Heavy Rain is still a bad game.

Also I want to know more about this Lyre, the worst mod in NeoGAF history. I am so happy Dragona wasn't a mod when I became a junior.
 
I think that's almost all mods who had an issue with me being gone. Maybe I can post in sales threads again? There's been so much goodness and tide turning that I have been unable to comment on!

EDIT: WTF, I don't think it is. Somehow I'm sort of starting to see why he's such a raging debater? This whole lying thing seems to be a big thing with Ami as well. Can't really blame him if he's having problems at home, just hope things get sorted. But based on that thread, he's certainly not helping his situation.

Having both spindashing and Plywood become mods at the same time!
