So apparently Cyberpunk 2077 does not have a toggle option for Quality/Performance on the PS5

I figured this was worth sharing for those of you on the fence re: what system to purchase it for.

Lots of people have already gotten their hands on it, and it appears that there is no toggle feature for quality vs performance for the PS5. It has been confirmed to exist on the XSX version. This is based on the comments by fellow members in our official Cyberpunk thread, along with posts in the OT for Cyberpunk on that other forum.

Thought this might be thread worthy because this information is sorta buried in our OT and this is the first I'm hearing of it.

edit: to further clarify, PS5 will run in performance mode only

XSX has the option to select performance or quality mode

I'm going in blind so I don't know anything about this, does the Xbox version have it?

I can't tell if this a pun or not.

but yes, at least the XSX version is confirmed to have it.

From what I understand, PS5 runs at unlocked framerate in performance mode as default? What resolution are we getting?

So is it just performance mode because alot of people saying its 60fps.

Do we know what resolution the PS5 runs at and what resolution each of the XB modes run at?

The default better be for fidelity then. i dont give a shit about 60fps in this game specifically.
according to the other forum, the default is performance mode. there is no quality mode.

I would link the posts here, but I'm not sure if we are allowed to crosspost from that forum?

This is true. Never saw a toggle on any PS5 streams.

Getting the feeling it won't come in the day 1 patch either. It's another W3 situation.

There is literally 60 FPS GAMEPLAY ON PS5 out there.

Maybe if CD RED would be transparent and would allow people to review and post console footage we wouldn't have to GO THROUGH THIS

PS5 60 fps gameplay

Looks good to me and definitely running at 60, I'm still waiting until launch to see better quality gameplay before i pick this up for PS5 but if it's a locked 60 with manageable bugs it's gonna be a pick up for me.

Why do people care that PS5 hasn't got a 30fps mode? I want to play Cyberpunk as a game not a slideshow.

The resolution bump in quality is only small from what I've heard on r/xboxseriesx so it doesn't matter.

60fps should be the default, and probably just means that the PS5 will have the best of both worlds.

No it doesn't. They are making a true next-gen version that comes out next year.

This just gives you the option to play at a higher resolution and lower framerate. You're still playing an Xbox One game on your Series S/X via BC.
Yes, it does have the toggle option. Read the OP.

EDIT: I was saying XSX has the toggle option. not the next gen patch.

people who have the game haven't figured out the details of what the toggle does exactly yet. I'm sure we will get more information shortly.

Xbox is paying for marketing so I guess they gave them a little extra but I wouldn't worry about it, it's still the last gen X1/PS4 version. Nothing fancy.

Performance mode 60 fps on PS5 is good for now until the next-gen upgrade so I might keep my PS4 version.

It's not a locked 60 from what Ive seen but it does spend most of its time at 60 IMO.

Did you try to change the system setting on PS5? It can change the profile the game runs.

BTW the PS5 runs the PS4 Pro version... there is no PS5 version yet.

With the PS5 running some B/C better than SX due to the pro version having slightly lower resolution than the one X I wouldn't be surprised that performance mode runs better on PS5 and CDPR putting a 30 quality option to make sure there is a b/c version that the SX can run without it dropping frames and such. We will see DF come out with a video but no idea how long it will take as no one has received console code..

As a lot of people are saying, XSX does NOT have performance/quality toggle, the One X has it.
Since the game is running on BC, is pretty bold to say the XSX has some next gen features for a last game gen.

PS5 runs the games just like a PS4 Pro would, plus the horse power of course. Next Gen version should offer performance/quality toggle on both systems.

the city is completely empty.

please tell me the pc version is more populated.
according to the reviews, there is a setting where you can adjust density of the city. the reviews are only for PC tho, so it's at least for sure there for PC.

idk bro, 4k @ 30 fps for this game is sorta tempting for me

not sure which I would pick tbh

I've tried both on all games I own. Spiderman, Valhalla(XSX), Demon's, and the fidelity modes are so terrible. I suggest starting in 30fps mode and never trying 60 because that is the only way it's possible. I was not a snob until this gen, lol
