So Chipotle is pretty damn good...

Sofritas my man. Dat tofu too strong.

I really wanted Sofritas to be good so my wife (indian) could enjoy Chipotle like I do. She loved all their other ingredients, but she felt the Sofritas was WAY too salty. After trying a bite, I'm inclined to agree.

This was in the first month after they launched it. Have they improved the recipe?

Queso is a plus in the Qdoba camp, but I prefer Chipotle for basically every other reason. Chipotle is just better all around.

I think they are both pretty similar. In most cases if I'm getting fast food "Mexican", I'll grab Taco Bell.

Outside that, I usually go to local places.

Tried Chipotle once. Had good flavor, but seemed expensive considering real Mexican food is only a couple of bucks more.

They need some queso, though. Qdoba queso is fantastic.

Yeah, truly is. For me it was one of those things were I said "How good could it possibly be" and it was pretty damn good

It is a bit salty I usually coat it in chipotle Tabasco in a bowl and enjoy the slight burns. Its like a 700 calorie bowl of delicious that fills me up.

Ask for a little more of everything except meat (e.g. "double cheese" or "could I just get a bit more cheese"). Usually they'll give you twice as much of stuff without thinking about it. Also when getting meat, ask for something like "half chicken, half steak" and they'll give you almost twice as much meat. Get a water cup for soda, and no guacamole.

This guy knows what he's talking about. When Chipotle opens up, they give you crazy portions to get you hooked. Then they skimp on everything, especially during lunch madness. It sucks. Asking for half barbacoa, half carnitas (best meat combo) is a surefire way to get the proper portion.

1) "Real" Mexican food is often cheaper than Chipotle, not more expensive.

2) Who cares? If I want real Mexican food I'll get it.. if I want americanized fast-food I'll get Chipotle/Qdoba/etc..

People are really strange when it comes to authentic food.. it can be great.. but it's not like making something non-authentic suddenly makes it taste like garbage.

Are sofritas national right now? I notice nobody's mentioning it, I actually find the stuff to be really good, even as a meat eater.

I enjoy their bowls more. You lose too much flavor to the burrito shell.

My goto bowl is chicken with white rice, pinto, veggies, mild and hot salsa, cheese, and corn salsa.

If I get Barbacoa then I switch to brown rice.

wut

But you always call me fat when I get it :\

I always did half and half from the very first time I ordered because I always order online and they spell it out for you that you can do it. I'll also never not order online as it's always nice to walk past the 20-30 person line, walk right up to the counter, get your food and be back out the door in 2 minutes.

I have it by me. I tried it once, it was alright, but I'll stick to half chicken half steak. Although they're running a promotion where if you get sofritas on January 26, you can get a free burrito for up to a month afterwards.

Queso is cheese. So you're saying you like their cheese better.

I guess if you want to be technical about it. :P

1. I guess it depends on what you get.

2. I'm not saying Chipotle is garbage, in fact it was quite delicious. I'm simply stating that, for my money, I'd rather go to a Mexican restaurant, get chips and salsa included, and still have some good food.

I remember not liking it for a while, too, because I usually get the chicken and it was really bland, so it was a long time before I went back. When I finally gave it a second shot, though, the chicken was perfect and soooo delicious. I think I just got a bad batch the first time, because I still to get very plain chicken from time to time, when I want the spicy.

It's been a while since I last ate there, maybe a few years. I might make a trip on Friday thanks to this thread.

Bunch of casuals in here getting bowls. Burritos all the way, just get better at eating it without it falling apart, pro tip, don't put the thing down, if you put it down, that's when you've messed up.

Pro-tip: Get the bowl and ask for a couple of tortillas on the side. You get two burritos out of a bowl rather than your one burrito.

You're in Canada. Mucho Burrito is mucho better dude.

joke post? Chipotle has better quality meat and side topping. Also they are the only burrito chain in toronto to actually offer cubes of steak, the rest have the shredded garbage. also they are the only chain to warm the burrito before they put the ingredients in, the others warm the burrito after, leaving the salsa and sour cream warm and gross

Soft corn tortilla steak tacos, sour cream, lettuce, white rice, mild salsa.

Get a small order of chips and put a couple on the tacos to add a bit of crunch.

Absolutely delicious.

My go to at Chipotle is Steak (extra), Cilantro Lime Rice, Fajita Vegetables, Salsa (hot), Cheese (extra), and Guac.

Also a good tip at Chipotle is to order Half one meat and half another because you end up with more meat that way. For my past few trips I got half barbacoa and steak. I've also been getting bowls lately to cut out around 200 calories that's in the flour tortilla.

Chipotle is awesome. My usual meal is burrito + white rice + double chicken + mild salsa + medium salsa + corn salsa + sour cream + cheese.

Oh boy just thinking about it is making me hungry...

I don't hate the food here, but I haven't ate here in years because it's absurdly expensive for what you get, which is already a pile of shit bigger than my head that I probably won't finish.

You can get almost anything on the side that isnt meat/guac for free, if that means anything to you. They will give you a small container of rice/lettuce whatever.

GET THE SALAD DRESSING (chipotle lime vinaigrette). ITS SOOOOO GOOD

There's one in Toronto that supposed to open right beside where I work, but the "coming soon" sign has been up for well over a year now.

There's one right next to my work. It's good food , although a bit on the pricey side. But when I feel like treating myself, I go there.

I went to places like Qdoba and Chipotle a few times, but that was years ago.

The burritos were tasty and filling. Taco bowls looked alright too.

That said, I don't get the obsession or hype surrounding these sorts of places. I have no more inclination to go back than I do for the likes of Taco Bell or Wendy's, food quality aside.

I'd rather just go to an actual Mexican restaurant.

Bowls are lame.

That tortilla is 300 calories of carbs.

Most of their burritos give you more than the recommended daily amount of sodium in a single entree ( while also tipping the scales at up to 1200+ calories YOu can get fewer calories from a Double Quarter Pounder with large fries than from a Chipotle burrito) They just dump sodium into everything.

This man knows his stuff.

Also, their chips and guacamole are very good.

add their chips and guac and it is eay to get to 1800 -2000 calories and over 3200 mg's of sodium.
