Amen.

It makes my blood boils everything that Chipotle represents. Specially their customers. I always think of the posters here in the forum who love Chipotle as people that do not like to try new things, doesn't travel, likes McDonalds, and never eat at local places.

Yea, I really don't get it. We have one on campus and there are several other local Mexican places to eat yet there is always a line out the door for chipotle. The unexplained hype for it is similar to starbucks

Other people eating burritos makes you blood boil?

Better get that shit checked out.

That's it. Chipotle is the Starbucks of the taco world.

Typically young white people from the suburbs.

OH.

I was checking their website to know if there's one in Montreal and there's one in Plattsburgh, NY.

Distance as crow flies : 55 miles.

Damn ... tempting.

On a more serious note, why is there no Chipotle in Montreal ? I've noticed recently that there were 3 taco bells joints. I knew to try that asap.

You don't go to Chipotle for great mexican cuisine. You go to Chipotle for Chipotle.

Judgmental much?

So weird to hear people compare 'real Mexican food' to chipotle. living with people from mexico that make 'real authentic Mexican food' that range from sopapillas, tamales, enchiladas, tacos, burritos, mole, etc, we all love chiptole. The taco stands probably only have el pastor or carne tacos. Both are good but, I would rather get a pound of the meat at a local mexican restaurant than a few over priced tacos at a stand where they probably don't wash hands in exchanging money with food.

To compare the two is baffling to me, might as well have the same thought process and only eat a cheeseburger at any local mom and pops in a store versus the national chain like smash burger, lark burger, five guys, etc.

Anyway back to the op, enjoy the amazing grilled meat! I know in Boulder, CO they add honey when they season the steak.

LOL at so many people catching feels in a Chipotle thread.

Different qualities of meat come from the same place. The same meat suppliers will have different tiers of cost/quality for what they offer. They don't simply sell the same thing to everyone

You can literally buy the same thing

lmfao oh lord this thread is a t r i p. get it together.

Burrito bowl, but get them to put the tortilla in the bowl first, then you can eat it at the end when it's got all that yummy flavour.

So you equate people who like a particular chain restaurant's food as not being open minded in regards to other aspects/things in life? LOL! Thanks for judging everyone who frequents Chipotle... I can imagine you doing this when someone says they're heading to Chipotle for Lunch/Dinner...

It's not that serious mang!!

Chipotle is bland. Blander than Kenny G. playing smooth jazz at a khaki convention.

If you like it because it's "real food" then say so. But don't try to con people into thinking it actually taste good.

Chipotle is absolutely terrible. If you have a real Mexican restaurant nearby and you go to chipotle, you are doing it wrong. They can't even get the chips right. They are super salty.

Chipotle is just a place for people who are uncomfortable in real Mexican restaurants.

Just STFU and accept that what Chiptole, Qdoba, Annie's, California Burrito, Moe's, and all of those other places are selling is not 'authentic Mexican food,' and that some people.. actually.. millions of people, really like restaurants like Chipotle, even though you don't like them because it's not "real Mexican." I love authentic Mexican restaurants, they're great, but it's not like Chipotle is trying to be your authentic-someone's-kitchen Mexican restaurant, they're not. They're making food that people like, and authentic Mexican food is something that people like, but they aren't trying to be the same thing. You don't have to be a food douche.

Praise jeebus for the best post in this thread

That's my face right now!

Get a burrito bowl with brown rice, fajita, half chicken, half barbacoa, mild and medium salsa, corn, cheese, sour cream and avocado.

I can have this all day everyday!

Dude... their meat is the same as the one from McDonalds. Literally. It only has different shape.

Don't believe me? Google it.

The company is called OSI.

I didn't know that Mcdonalds used meat that has no added hormones, never treated with antibiotics, or were humanely raised. That's good to hear though.

of course their food is processed. processed isn't a bad word or a bad thing.

Right, I think the term processed here is being used to imply that Chipotle's food is just as crappy in quality as Mcdonalds.

Lmao

I've eaten Mexican food all my life. As a child, from my own kitchen, in a hole in the wall place, nicer restaurants here in Houston, and in the small towns my parents grew up in in Puebla.

Sometimes I just really want something from Chipotle.

This thread made me go get two bowls for lunch that I'm currently eating. Are the chipotle haters still circle jerking in here?

I live in Cali. I go to Taco places and order cabeza, buche, and real barbacoa on the weekends. I also have no problem eating at Chipotle or McDonalds. Some of you are just miserable.

They have two joints in Toronto, and it's pretty damn good. So far, I've gotten chicken burrito with pinto beans and brown rice. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

It really is pretty damn good! I go to the Shops @ Don Mills location once in a while, always grab a bowl.

Everyone keeps talking calories. It is their sodium content that will kill you. Twice the daily intake in a single bowl.

Eh. My blood pressure is perfectly fine. If you went to Portillo's like every day and had an italian beef dipped I'm sure it would be similar salt intake.

They use the hormone and antibiotic infused stuff all the time and you're chowing down on marketing hype.

Of course it is because sodium intake doesn't affect blood pressure. Thanks Lewis Dahl.

I went there a few times. Each time I sat down I realized I forgot something so, while it tasted okay, I'd leave disappointed. It's great fast food for people who know what they like. I don't have any idea, and wish they would just choose everything for me so it actually tasted good.

This is strangely hilarious to me. I'm imagining you in the line yelling "JUST MAKE IT TASTE GOOD"

"But sir, what do you think tastes good? Literally all of your options are right here"

If I'm eating a burrito I've already made the decision to not eat healthy. Burritos, no matter what you put in it, are usually unhealthy. That's why I will always choose taco trucks over Chipotle. If I'm gonna kill myself, I'm gonna do it right.

There is more salt in just the chipoltle tortilla than in the entire itallian beef sandwich from Portillo's.

Guys. GUYS.

Two secrets to Chipotle:

1. Smile (and be polite)'
2. Order half-and-half on the proteins (like half Chicken, half Steak)

You will get easily 50-100% more delicious protein for free.

Brown rice, black beans, half chicken, half steak, double-hot, corn, and cheese. It's fucking God tier and I will NEVER get tired of it.

Every time I've tried to order half an half at a chipotle, they try to charge me for double. They dont seem to understand the concept of half and half and when i try to explain they get a deer in headlights look.

I usually use my tongue to determine whether something has too much salt but that is sorta crazy. I didn't even think the tortilla was that salty. I know their chips are cray with the salt though.

I feel terrible for people who will never try authentic Mexican food.

Chipotle is not authentic Mexican food. I mean, yeah, it's an alright restaurant, but it by no means is it real/good Mexican food.

Chipotle is good, but the flavorings are straight-up mediocre. There's a bit of marinade on the meats and the salsas are nothing special. The rice and the beans are fairly dry and unremarkable. The veggies are nice and fresh and the guac is passable. But I wouldn't say Chipotle is dripping with flavor by any means.

Fresh veggies are great, I've never had dry rice or beans at my Chipotle, and the steak is marinated enough for me.

Then again, I possess #FFFFFF skin color, so my arguments about flavor might be biased.

I love mexican food and i love chipotle, sup?

Had home made albondigas last night for dinner.

Mexican here. Chipotle is better than many authentic dishes, things like mole.

Why does everything have to be "authentic"?

I dont go to Chipotle because I want to taste a new Mexican dish, I go because I like rice, beans, meat and cheese. I also like how they do it right in front of me.

Also, lol at that poster who doesn't like "Chipotle Culture" .

Ask for a little more of everything except meat (e.g. "double cheese" or "could I just get a bit more cheese"). Usually they'll give you twice as much of stuff without thinking about it. Also when getting meat, ask for something like "half chicken, half steak" and they'll give you almost twice as much meat. Get a water cup for soda, and no guacamole.

Technically the soda thing is a bit dishonest. Then again the syrup in those soda machines cost 2 cents with a 10000% upcharge.

Who gives a shit about food being authentic if it's tasty and fills my stomach fine. This authentic bullshit is going out of hand
