My Space is much better then the plain jane uniform face book....
The only time I see or hear MySpace talked about on TV, Is when I visit my grandmother while she's watching Judge Judy....

I'm not noticing any effect on people adding me, I do notice the booming popularity of the others in the news....

MySpace is a wonderful tool & a pussy factory....
Those that hate it are not doing it correctly, It's but a mere videogame to me....

The ultimate RPG if you will....

MY ELLIPSES, LET ME SHOW YOU THEM

Forget Myspace, what about LiveJournal? That was all the rage in 03-04. There used to be a website that would just publish random photos from LiveJournal.

MySpace was always shit. The obnoxious backgrounds and forced browser music were ghastly.
I agree, but I think it seems an even more damning complaint from a guy who makes multi-megabyte animated GIFs. :lol

I like being able to control my own myspace page, the look and feel of it, which is why I like it. I know people abuse this and make cluttered pages that take forever to load, which is annoying, but not me. Facebook is probably better when it comes to communication efficiency but myspace works for me just as well and I seem to run into less drama on myspace, believe it or not. I haven't had a Facebook in like 2-3 years though so maybe it's massively better or something now, I don't know.

Tricked out pages killed MySpace. Blaming it on racism is cute but nobody wants to wait two minutes to load up a tricked out MySpace page with blaring, shitty music. Good luck trying to find the source so you can pause it or turn off the media player's volume. Having sparkly stuff on your page only works if you are a 12 year old girl.

Facebook has long since hit its prime as well. They keep trying to add shit to it and then either get rid of it or scale it back. Most people went to it for the KISS outlay. Facebook Lite offers this, fortunately. I want my social networking experience to be bare boned. I just want to see what my friends are up to and to get notices of upcoming parties, events, etc. I do not, however, care to play Mafia Wars or try to be the reigning Tetris champion in my MySpace group.

Twitter is and will always remain a joke. It is just a stopgap for a better concept not yet out.

What killed MySpace for me? Well, for one, the terrible layout. But, mostly it was the constant spam messages and spam friend requests.

Facebook has only become more cluttered, what with the constant addition of new content, but I have only received ONE spam message over the last couple of years there. That's quite enough for me. Everything else is just peachy. I do approve of the layout and the general clean look of it, as well.

MySpace is garbage at this point. I hope Facebook doesn't go down the same road because, while I don't use it THAT much, I do find it a very tolerable experience, unlike MySpace.

As roosters93 said, MySpace is pretty solid for bands, but that's about it. When it comes to general networking, there's just no contest anymore.

I logged into my LJ the other day and was blown away that some friends from college still use it fairly consistently. It essentially died when facebook took off.
