So how was TGS this year?

I mean, it had all kinds of good stuff. For me there was Nioh and BB for action games, there was SO5, Setsuna, P5 and other stuff for JRPG, AoT game is looking pretty amazing.

It was better than last year imo.

Pros:
Project Setsuna looks amazing.
Ace Attorney anime
FFXIV update looks cool for when I reup my subscription.
Gravity Rush 2 looks so good that I need to play the first one.
Yakuza 1 remake. Please localize Sega.

Cons:
Persona 5 delay and trailer looked...okay.
Star Ocean 5 continues to look mediocre.
Not much DQXI
No SaGa gameplay
FFXV has officially lost me on hype.

Extra mentions:
Shame that #FE wasn't there. It looked great at E3.
Star Ocean 2 PS4 seems random and pointless.

Completely disagree on the bolded points. Also, we just had a conference full of DQXI info, give it some time.

It was great.

  • Persona 5 stuff (trailer, anime, opening w/ lyrics)
  • Danganronpa 3
  • Gravity Rush Remake
  • Gravity Rush 2
  • 13 Sentinels
  • Nioh
  • Bloodborne expansion
  • Ace Attorney 6 + anime adaptation
Good stuff, overall.

Compared to previous years, this is the best its been in a long time. You folks should have seen TGS when it was on life support, that shit was just bad then.

What happened with the new IP we were expecting from Nagoshi? I never heard a thing about Sega outside of the Yakuza games and the Atlus stuff.

Gravity Rush 2 trailer.

I was going to say P5 trailer but the delayed ruined that for me.

The ONLY disappoints I have (which aren't many) is the fact that CyberConnect2 decided to announce a mobile game for .Hack (the first, of their projects for it, apparently?) and for Cygames to not show off their PS4 game. Especially with a booth as big as they had.

Other than that, absolutely LOVED the Persona 5 trailer, Nioh, Star Ocean 5, FFXV, Project Setsuna, Dark Souls 3/Bloodborne DLC, Dragon Quest Builders, Gravity Daze 2 and Yakuza 1 / 6 announcement.

Terrible, where the hell was Knack 2?!?!

But on a serious note, it was pretty terrific. Lots of new announcements convincing me to finally get a PS4 next year.

From the newly (re-)announced titles, I'm interested in Gravity Rush Remastered, Gravity Rush 2, Bloodborne: The Old Hunters, Yakuza Kiwami, Ni-Oh.

For me it was the best TGS in a long time, SO5, Danganronpa 3 and Persona 5.

However, at this point I wonder what has happened with Level-5:s PS4 game?

It had Gravity Rush2/1, Ni-Oh, Bloodborbne's expansion and danganronpa 3 for PS4

very good, but it could have been better

I was kinda hoping for at least 1 AAA title that interests me like that FF rival, level5 big JRPG, RE7/ or DMC5 , but nope we didn't get those.

It was good.Definitely better than previous years.

Ni-Oh was easily the biggest surprise of the show and one of my most anticipated games for next year.

Still felt low key TBH. Some decent announcements here and there but nothing major. Certainly going in a better direction than past years but left me disappointed somewhat.

The Vita/Ps4 lineup was pretty cool

Toukiden 2
Project Setsuna
Vanillaware's 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim

Plus the Seiken densetsu remake for Vita/ioS, and Phoenix Wright VI on 3DS.

It was my most hyped TGS from what I can remember. I cannot wait to play:

-Project Setsuna
-Star Ocean 5
-Final Fantasy XV
-Persona 5
-Dragon Quest Builders
-World of Final Fantasy
-Gravity Daze 2

Square Enix has really knocked it out of the park. I am really excited for all of their games coming out next year. They are one of the main reasons why I feel like the PS4 is giving off PS2 vibes to me. There is just a feeling of excitement and magic that I just haven't felt since the PS2 that I am feeling again with the PS4.

SMH

So annoyed with this. This was not supposed to be some technical thing about "when" the game gets revealed

but on the whole, it was a pretty good TGS. For Sega, it's mostly good if you're already in Japan, if not, gg's

Gravity Rush blow out.
Yakuza 6. Yakuza 1 remake.
P5 Trailer.
NI-OH being awesome and a nice surprise.
Metal Gear Online 3.
SaGa game for Vita.
Vanillaware game might be good?
Danganronpa 3.

Yeah, it was pretty sweet. Best TGS for me for a long time now.

Great: Gravity Rush 2 and Gravity Rush 1 Remaster for PS4, Persona 5 Trailer

Not So Great: Delays

Overall pretty good.

Looks like that hat is uncomfortable.
Still, at least we know P5 will be an instant classic if they're wanting to fine tune it to perfection.

The best TGS in years. I got to see stuff from a lot of games I was already interested in and some footage from games I hadn't seen.

I'm interested in 20 Japanese PS4 games alone.

Awful for Wii U
Bad for 3DS
Great for Vita
Awesome for PS4

Please inform me (as someone who couldn't follow all the news): were there any Wii U games featured/revealed at all? Or any relevant news at all for Wii U owners?

The only things that did manage to reach me were PS4/Vita related. There must have been something for Wii U, no?

Was the best one in god knows how long. Very excited about the PS4's future especially. If you had showed me the current list of Japanese games coming to the system 2 years ago, including Gravity Rush 2, TLG and FFVII remake, me and everyone else here would laugh heartily.

13 Sentinels
Toukiden 2
Gravity Rush Remaster and 2
Ni Oh
KH 2.8
Project Setsuna
Danganronpa 3

In addition to updates on tons of games already announced.

If your a fan of Japanese games, and you came into this Japanese game show expecting those, it was a god level conference.

I didn't expect any AAA reveals, so what we did get was great.

Best Tokyo Game Show in a LONG time, think the best since 2011. So far it's the best trade show this year in terms of gameplay shown off to me, though E3 still has those three remarkable announcements. Actually when I think about it, it's been one of the best tradeshows in recent times too.

Gravity Rush 2, Ni-Oh, Yakuza Kiwami, Star Ocean 5 and Persona 5 are my most anticipated games for next year.

Completely awesome, the amount of game coming that interest me is way bigger then for E3.

Persona 5
Ni-Oh
Project Setsuna
Gravity Rush 2
13 Sentinels
Star Ocean 5
SAGA Scarlet
Attack on Titan
Danganronpa 3
Yakuza 1 and 6

Pretty great lineup to me.

It was very nice!
Though, I can't help but feel a little let down with no announcement of Final Fantasy XII HD Remastered, and the delay of Persona 5.

But it was very great. Got a cool Gravity Rush 2 trailer, a new Persona 5 trailer, some Star Ocean V and Bloodborne DLC. Oh, and more about Hot Shots Golf, which took the show for me.

Oh yeah, and I loved the new information and footage of Final Fantasy XV!

I didn't have time to follow TGS this year but if your lists are real, 11/10. I mean, GR2? Yakuza 1 remaster? Is it a port from Wii U collection or will they use HD assets? Any word on localization? Is this real life? Why am I still in the West, just to suffer?

Its a full remake.

Gravity Rush 2 confirmed alive and looking beautiful. New Vanillaware game, Bloodborne DLC and more Persona 5 hype. Lots of other cool stuff too. Much more hype than the last couple TGS shows I've watched.

A long time ago, I used to look to TGS to make up for the lack of Japanese announcements at E3 but over the last few years, I had really given up any hope or expectation for that. This year was a pleasant surprise and I hope we look back at this as a turning point rather than a one time thing.
