So I finally tried coffee

yeah i was usually a cup of coffee every 1-2 weeks kinda guy.

I just bought a Nespresso Pixie and an Aeroccino 3 for myself. It's so easy and cool. I dont like strong coffee at all so i chose the lighter blend capsules then put some sweet and low in and low fat milk to froth up. I drink around 2 cups a week now and i really like it. The machine is a breeze to clean up and maintain.

I don't like coffee either, thought it would have more flavor but its just burnt beans anyway.

I'll just take pills and treat caffeine like the drug that it is.

Yeah, I don't like it.

I'm glad I don't need it like most people I know. I can wake up fully functional, no matter how little sleep I get, and caffeine has no effect on me.

Those vicious mornings are caffeine withdrawals kicking in, you won't get them if you don't drink coffee on the regular and you won't notice the caffeine feeling as much. If anything too much caffeine is a terrible feeling, heart rate feeling like it's through the rough and nothing but anxiety. There's a good inbetween.

It's a gorgeous feeling though, waking up all sorts of dead and having a good cup can be a religious experience.

Stop drinking at starbucks then. They burn their beans constantly and it is a terrible flavour.

Are you putting cream and sugar in your drink? You are not a man if you do that. You know that only men drink their coffee black? You are some sort of non-man for drinking your coffee with sugar or cream, the same as drinking your whiskey with Coke or shaving your facial hair.

Only fake-men drink non-black coffee. You can wear latex pink pants and take female growth hormones and still be called a man, but if you drink non-black coffee you are not a real man.
I don't drink coffee either, but not because I don't like the taste. I don't drink it because I maintain my energy level without relying on caffeine.

I've been in situations where I could stay up 24 hours with no coffee while people who drink coffee would have 10 cups and still feel the crash.
It's better to be without coffee and train yourself to be awake without it.

A real man. He doesn't need drugs like the rest of us losers

It's the main purpose of coffee.

uh no

of caffeine maybe, and only to some

I drink coffee because I like it

the fact of wether or not I "need it" to get through my day is not the reason why I started drinking it

there's a lot of factors about what it gives you and how it makes you feel beyond "staying awake"

im not like constantly falling asleep or something

I drink coffee with food more often than not, that's how I started, that's how its been most of my life. I've drank coffee to stay awake twice in college, but that's it.

What makes it better than other brands?

This thread is vaguely about me overcoming my fears and ingesting things I never would have not that long ago.
Why are you afraid to ingest coffee?

It took me about two hours to drink one cup of it.
You know what other freshly made foods tastes like crap after 2 hours? EVERYTHING.

This is like saying, "stop drinking whiskey if you don't like it oak aged." It's one way to prepare the beverage. A way that a majority of people like.

"Stop drinking beer if you don't like popping the cork."

Coffee isn't something you like the first time, it takes time and a few tries and before you know it boom you can't start your day without it.

1) Thank you.
2) I was never exposed to it, no one in my family drinks it. As a result of that and some other things I tend to avoid anything that might have addictive qualities or create a dependency issue. I don't suffer from feeling tired at any time so I never saw the point.
3) I didn't like it when it was hot so I tried to drink it as slowly as possible.

starbucks is a fucking dessert place you don't go there for coffee tho

like, they are great are making something that's called vine frappunito fino thingie and it taste sweet and fattening and good but who actually goes there for coffee besides it being close-by or not having proper time

people who shit on their coffee are kinda misguided on what starbucks does; regardless of what they claim to look cool

All hail the Starbucks overlords. (This is seriously their coffee shop in Capitol Hill)

You probably did it wrong. Coffee is great if you find the blend, preparation method, and added ingredients (if any) that work for you. Not all coffee is the same, not by a long shot.

For instance, what some people call a light blend, I call nauseating horsewater. Whatever it is they think they're drinking in Portland, it doesn't resemble coffee as I understand it.

There's a vast range of drinks that fall under the heading of coffee. Maybe you'd like Turkish coffee, or a latte, or a dark blend with some half and half. Just be careful with the sugar. It'll ruin the flavor more often than not. It's best used to mask the awfulness of the cheap stuff (with some exceptions).

Starbucks is the worst. For the life of me, I cannot fathom how they became so popular. Easily the worst coffee I've ever had.
Because Frappucinos are basically great dessert shakes, they present a good pastry, and they have brand value

Reading this thread as I go through my first coffee of the day is kind of funny.

Speaking of Starbucks, I'm always baffled when I see people buying their coffee there in Italy of all places.

what? i dont even get this analogy.

Startbucks coffee is just terrible. Every other major coffee chain has better coffee than them.

If I go there will I like coffee? It's not that far.

No. It's a really cool place inside and out though. It's funny you wait in line for coffee for 45 mins and you're getting... Starbucks! Which is the McDonald's of coffee. Great place for a coffee date though... if you don't get the coffee.

If you live in Seattle, try Stumptown in Cap Hill. It's small. Get a small latte. It'll be nice and smooth. I sometimes put a small amount of maple syrup in mine. It's legit.

The black coffee drinkers are advance course, you gotta crawl before you run!

Best coffee is Blue Bottle though. If you're in NYC or SF go there. It's incredible. It is what God drinks in the morning while reading the paper.

I'm currently questioning my entire existence. You sound incredibly trustworthy.

The place I was at was like 5 minutes from there. Maybe next time...

I absolutely loved my first glass of wine, wasn't too fond of beer, but being a poor college student makes you warm to it soon enough. Coffee was a bit more of a struggle. Had my first coffee when I was eight thereabouts with cream and sugar and hated it. But there was something intriguing about people loving something so revolting so I kept at it. Now I drink it black, preferably so strong you have to cut it with a knife. If I don't drink six cups a morning I get a terrible headache. Start with Lattes, end with Italian espresso.

Come over to our side OP it's g-g-g-g-great. *teeth gnashing*
