I've tried H before, so i'm definitely not condemning, you just really gotta watch because I've also had a very close personal friend who has allowed the drug to take over his life. It's really a situation in which you are playing with fire because one day your going to be in bad place again and you'll remember how Heroin helped "get you through the day" and decide to let it help you get through the day again. This is how the cycle starts. Trying it because of curiosity is one thing, but when you start using it to treat your depression, the situation can become ugly very quickly. I'm not saying your going to become a junkie, but I think you should really stop and ask yourself what might happen if the opportunity to try it again comes up.

The thing that the OP needs to realize is that he will never "get off" on the high he experienced the first time. Even if he doesn't plan on doing it often when he does it will take more to get the same effect. Freebase leads to snorting, snorting will lead to shoot up. Happened to my buddy.

There are pros and cons to everything in life, and you got to learn how to control that to live a meaningful life. I'm not saying everyone should go out now and try everything and see how they can manage it, but I think my point is pretty clear.
Being curious doesn't make a person stupid or flawed. Leave the kid be. He tried it once, he enjoyed it, and he's putting it aside.
That said, do stay away from it. I'm all for experimenting with as much as possible in life, but heroin is a "sometimes drug," like once or twice every six months kind of thing.

I'm glad the hardest drugs I've done is aspirin, ritalin, and Mountain Dew.
My dad's an alcoholic, so I do as much as I can to not drink alcohol. Don't want to risk it :x

Some things come down to willpower, self control and common sense.
I have had no problem quitting weed, quitting smoking cold turkey and only did acid twice, I saw my buddy get hooked on meth and was offered it by him many times but declined. Could I have quit meth or cocaine as easily as the rest, I don't know but I had enough common sense not to try.
