So is PSN down for everyone or just some?

Well, on a second note at least I know my ps4 I just got isnt borked (sucks considering I was trying to set it up for my sisters birthday as I got her a game for it)

Not down, but friends list, trophies, and store are not functional. I can still play CODAW online right now though I am noticing a really low player pool for a Friday night.
 
Just got a message notifying me of maintenance after trying to access the store. Was working fine less than five minutes ago.

Edit: Working fine two minutes after that.
 
Was down after coming home from a long day. Couldn't sign in but realized I could still stream through Twitch. Now playing Bloodborne offline.
 
Can't access the store to view the flash sale, nor can I log into Driveclub social features. So back to house renovation I go :(
 
So I've tried playing Wolfenstein, but when I select it in the Library, it freezes and tells me "This service is currently undergoing maintenance".

PSN status page says:
Affected Services: You may be experiencing issues related to launching games, applications, and/or social features such as trophies, messaging, or friends list. We appreciate your patience while we address this.

Does this mean that in 2013 everybody was bitching about Microsoft announcing Xbox One being always-on, and in reality it was PS4 which is always-online?

That's amazing.
 
My Destiny fire team is on, but I can't log on though. I guess it's working for those who stayed online and didn't sleep mode/turn off their PS4.

Was just getting ready to do some fresh Destiny bounties and after the awesome patch.

Getting tired of PSN being down. We pay premium money for this service. They need to invest more in it.

"Currently undergoing maintenance" aka we were hacked again and we're trying to get our heads out of our asses....

No, that's not what it means.
 
Frusturating, was playing a crucible match when I got a notification that Destiny would be closing in 5 minutes. It did exactly that.

When you select a game from the library it goes to a specific page.

Instead, have it selected and press the "option" button. I think there's a "play" option that throws you right into the game as long as you have the game downloaded.

Thanks, but there's no "Play" button there. Maybe I'm missing something obvious, but I've looked everywhere trying to launch the game.

EDIT: the game is completely downloaded and all, I just haven't played it for a couple of months.

Hmm... there's a way to move a game from your library to the main line, but I forget what that is. I think it's in the system options?

I'm able to start my downloaded copy of Wolfenstein from the main line, and my other games work in library. Maybe it's an issue with the game itself reacting to the outage, dunno.
 
Can't launch Bloodborne, I had switched to a digital copy because my PS4 kept spitting out the disc, just got the PS4 back from repairs on Wed and had most of BB downloaded today. Now I started playing, then it said it would suspend the application in 15 minutes because it can't connect to the server to verify the license. After it kicked me out it would not let me back in.

The digital future is lame.
