Why? The game literally tells you to switch characters at that moment.
doesn't help when you've already accomplished it when the switch prompt comes up. this is what happened to me but I didn't mind playing from that moment twice to see both endings.
I liked Revelations 2 but I liked 1 better. Particularly the first half or so, when you're on the boat and underpowered still. Except for the dodge, good grief Rev 1 dodge was awful
I like Mercs better too, but raid still seems fun from what little I've played of it. Maybe it will get repetitive for me later on. RE5 Mercs in co-op though is the best monogame ever.

Is TEW good?
I heard lots of opinions about it. Some was bad, some was good, mostly mixed because of camera and the balance in hard difiiculty
I had trouble inputting it. I followed a guide from youtube that suggested to just hold down the button and spin the stick in a cirlce. When the proper window for dodging happens, if you're doing that it'll trigger, and it worked for me.Was fine, just need time it well.
REV 2 dodge doesn't seem good either. Seems better to just dash.
i played co-op with a friend the whole way through and we surprisingly really enjoyed it. I played Claire and Natalia, he played Barry and Moira. As Claire I was always setting him up for crow bar executions, and natalia I was running around chucking bricks.I played the hell out of RE5. I'm a huge fan of the franchise and I admit, 5 is probably my most replayed because it's a great co-op game. I'm trying my best to like Revelations 2, but the lack of involvement with player 2 during combat is seriously killing it for me.
I would like to believe you. But lots of people wrote the same about Rev1 (including good reviews) and I thought it was utter garbage. Worse than Code Veronica. Worse than 6. Worse than everything. It was my last RE game after following the franchise since 1997. The new games are nothing like the old. And compared to 4, they are terrible. Simply terrible.
The only RE games I will buy now are remakes of older titles ... Or a miracle happens and Mikami returns to the franchise. Even Evil Within (with a confusing story and other flaws) was a lot better than any RE since 4.
Glad you're having fun though. Just not my franchise anymore.
TL;DR: Angry rant^^
I love that RE6 is a very unique "brawler" and that kind of stuff was sorely lacking in Rev2.
Rev2 gets pretty goddamned boring (even in Raid) while RE6 Mercs has serious legs.
I miss the game play of RE6.
Would love the modern controls of REv2 to be mixed with the mobility and melee of RE6.
That would be fucking awesome. If Rev2 (itself) signals the future of RE I'd be very disappointed, and pretty bored.
Don't know if you've played Raid recently, but there's been a couple crazy updates, and they're free. Rachel and the FBC version of Jessica from RER1 are both playable — you select them under Gina's costumes — and so is Lottie (yes, the teddy bear!), who can be selected under Cipher. It's good I hope they put out another Revelations game on that budget. Really enjoyed the part in theI was suprised how solid raid mode was as well, I just wish they'd done some DLC for it and put in more classic characters.underground mansion, so much nostalgia there they even had the same sound effect for the grandfather clock.
Didn't you like Raid enough to beat it even on Code Red? That's like hundreds of hours of investment.Campaign is cool.
Raid Mode however, is the biggest disappointment ever.

Yeah, it looked like shit in prerelease media. I'm glad the reviews convinced me to give it a try. It ended up being an amazing four weeks, feverishly anticipating each episode and discussing them here on GAF.Yeah it was surprisingly good, especially considering how awful it looked in all the promo material leading up to release. Hopefully Capcom does another at some point.

Agreed. It's decent. But for me after my first play through and another it didn't holdup very well like the other games. I enjoyed it more than revelations 1 which I consider the weakest main entry RE, but it's still rather low for me on the overall scale.
I vastly prefer RE6 to it, which I know for most instantly null and voids any opinions I might bring up.
Regardless of that my biggest issue is just that the budget shows. Regardless it is only 25 bucks, so the good ideas they had can be seen. But you can tell they were unable to fully envision them.
I wouldn't expect them to incorporate RE6's (incredible) combat system into a low budget spin-off, it is better saved for the mainline numbered series.
I don't know if you'd like RER2. All I know is it's the closest the action REs have been to the old style. Thoughtful pacing, puzzles, resource management, the zapping system, a lot of atmosphere and intrigue... It's still an action RE, undeniably, but it's not mindless.I would like to believe you. That I would understand. But I get a little worried about the mainline series every time one of these positive Rev2 threads pops up.
I really like Rev2 up to a point. But it's missing my favorite aspect of the modern RE... using a critical hit to set up melee (which honestly started with RE4 and has been the ever-improving trend since) basically IS modern resident evil since 4 and there's nothing else out there like it. It's unique. So I worry it might be in jeopardy if people are too gushy about Rev2 which, after the dust settled, was just okay... and in a lot of ways quite lacking.
Raid for example was quite poorly implemented. Cool in theory, but RE6 Mercs murders it.

Raid mode sucks though.
Well Rev2 sold like a sixth of what RE6 has so I wouldn't worry about that just yet, especially when combat is one of the most respected aspects of RE6.
And people are mostly happy to finally get a solid campaign, story etc. so it's normal for it to be received well. If anything the severe lack of QTE's, vehicle and turret sections etc. makes me even more hopeful for RE7.
I do think that they might cut back on the insane amount of unique melee and combat animation though, the amount of that in RE6 was truly ridiculous. Really hope they don't though.
Why? The game literally tells you to switch characters at that moment.
Huh? It has this. Not as many options as 4 and 5, but it has the headshot or Moira flashlight stun to melee attack, and ground melee, partner melee chains, and you can even upgrade to charged melee attacks and follow up attack.
I love both the classic style RE and the action style RE, but I'd rather keep them separate, honestly. Trying to find a middle ground doesn't work, IMO. The Revelations games are ok (especially Rev2) but they are disappointing when compared with the more specialized entries (weak as a classic RE, and weak as an action RE)I just hope that this and the HD remake sales were enough of a friggin' clue for Capcom. Rev 2 proved that you can have a combination of horror, puzzles, and the new gameplay style. This shit doesn't have to be one thing or another.
Play 6 again. At least mercs, I get there are people who legit don't like the campaigns.
The gap there is so wide... 6 is ridiculous.
Melee in Rev2 is basically a punt. Slightly better than Rev1... but 1 was a joke in regard to melee.
RE4 was (especially demonstrated by the people who are really good at it) proof of concept for RE as a brawler. 5 built on it, and 6 just went off the charts.
Revelations is a fall back to Earth tripping and then landing on its face. At least in regard to being a brawler.
No it doesn't. It says "switch characters" on screen and then you do it and then you are on the good path.
not what happened when I played. Didn't show that prompt until after the mash Square, or w/e it was, was finished.
