RE6 did all that too and did those better. RE7 was very tame compared to RE6 in terms of brutal imagery, due to no death animations. Enemies swinged at you but you never really see them hitting you in first person. They might as well swinging at hot air.
RE6 was more scary and more survival horror than RE7 because of that.

Now, the game does have death scenes, and they can be extremely brutal.
And I don't recall RE6 having emphasis on puzzle-solving and limited item inventory management. Jake's campaign does have survival moments, like the cave/mining area, but overall, it's not emphasizing on it.
