So what should Nintendo do with Isabelle?

Give her a glorious comeback in Animal Crossing HD on Wii U.

I was thinking about some kind of extra app that can run when you're not playing the game, which displays on the Gamepad screen and you can watch her regulate your city/town when you are off duty and watch cute little interactions with inhabitants. And perhaps you can give her some duties in the app. If Nintendo really goes all out, they make a mobile companion app for ios/android with the same function (connected to your save file or whatever). Take Isabelle everywhere. :D

Isabelle virtual assistant in the next hardware release.

This... is actually a fantastic idea if you apply it in a general sense. We can have multiple "virtual assistants" from various Nintendo franchises, and you can purchase them.

It'd basically be an expanded version of the 3DS themes.

oh, i guess isabelle didn't make much of an impression on me from new leaf. terrible game.

I didn't even play New Leaf, as I am not a big fan of Animal Crossing but I respect them as a series and how they work, and I know who Isabelle is.

Come on, bro.

Give her a glorious comeback in Animal Crossing HD on Wii U.
Just use the plaza on the WiiU as a bases for the game. I mean it's right there Nintendo.

Have her as an unlockable character in the next Starfox games online / local multiplayer mode. Something entirely separate from the single player portion / story. She could lead Starpup (isabelle, resetti, nook and tortimer). Multiplayer only, and you can unlock additional random Animal Crossing characters along with "voice" acting and tons of dialogue only present in MP. The voices would have the convenience of sounding similar to the Lylat langauge they use in the classic games.

You know, Isabelle doesn't really look like she's shy or weak-willed as depicted in fanart. I can definitely see her as an attorney.

Keep her government assistant role in future animal crossings. Losing the mayoral powers in a future game would feel like a crushing step backwards.

If they come up with some other major position in a future game maybe she could be shifted to that, and replaced with a different assistant npc, like how nook no longer actually runs the store himself at any point.

I don't think any animal crossing npc is interesting enough to support a spinoff. I guess you could try a recettear style tom nook game or a kk rhythm game? but I'd rather have those embedded n the animal crossing world as activities.

I want Nintendo to make their dramatic entry into mobile apps not with gaming, but with QoL apps... and have Isabelle be the face of it! Nintendo's Evernote killer starring Isabelle.

Haha, in fact, I can't wait for the commercial where Siri, Cortanana and Madame GoogleNow are all lined up on a white screen being compared to Isabelle, but when you ask Isabelle where the nearest sushi bar is and how long a koala sleeps, her answers are all in AC gibberish-ese, lol.

They can be good tidbit eshop games. A bit more expansive than a minigame in AC but not quite huge enough to be considered a big game.

Hell, maybe a secretary sim should work.

Romance option as part of the main feature in the next Animal Crossing. That would not be awkward at all. Actually maybe it wouldn't if it wasn't for the fact that we are playing as a human in a village full of animals :S

Double post? What the hell?

Animal Crossing version of Panel de Pon / Tetris Attack / Planet Puzzle League. Isabelle takes you through tutorials, puzzle challenges and daily challenges. She + other Animal Crossing characters are opponents and selectable characters.

I don't know if she's popular enough to try and make her any more than she is. Just put her in the next Animal Crossing game.

Use her along with Nikki for universal game tutorials and OS menus

edit: beaten I am glad :)

I thought about this too. I guess I'm with that.

Put her in the next Animal Crossing game.

I mean, what more do people want? She's only been around for a few years. She should prove her worth before they shoehorn her into everything under the sun.

The face of the OS for the next system. Let her welcome the user back, mention that she's missed them since the last time they booted the system three days ago and that she fetched some game updates for them while they were away, which she hopes will make them happy.

eShop can be Tom Nook.

Wait, I don't know about that one.

Speaking of which, Nintendo hasn't made a "face" of an OS for their device huh? This would be good.

Pretty sure she has proven her worth already within a short amount of time.

Because they keep shoehorning her into everything. It's a self fulfilling prophecy. The reason she's appearing on so much merchandise isn't because she's popular. She's popular because she's appearing on so much merchandise. It's like the opposite of Rosalina, who has had a shockingly low amount of merchandise until now. The first official Rosalina plush just came out a few months ago.

Still, would Isabelle hurt Nintendo's image?

Err what? There's no precedence on that. That's like arguing Lucario's popularity is manufactured.

I like this idea.

I'd argue that it was, but Lucario was able to prove himself when he remained popular through Generation V despite their attempts to "replace" him with Zoroark. If they decide to leave Isabelle out of the next Animal Crossing for some reason and her popularity doesn't decline, then I'll probably take back my statement. Waifu bullshit aside, I don't mind the character at all, but I don't like how she got into Mario Kart before Tom Nook and K.K. Slider, who have been with the series since the very beginning.

I kinda agree with that idea but just don't force it on us. Let the user disable her dialogs if they want too.
