So what's the digital/physical split on GAF?

Probably 95+ % physical
Never bought anything digital for more than 10, I think... although I'm cheating a little since I own a digital AC 3DS because it was offered for free.
Even on PC, I tend to go physical, except for cheap (but sometimes great) games like FTL, and even for those, I try to avoid DRMs.
I've yet to back a kickstarter without a physical tier.

I want to say I buy a lot of stuff physically, but this year I bought 226 digital games and 1 physical game... and last year I bought 911 digital games and 12 physical games... so I guess I mostly buy stuff digitally?

Digital for PC. Physical for consoles. Steam will most likely outlive me but I don't think I can say the same for the online services on the consoles.

3DS - digital since Paper Mario, but I haven't bought anything in ages because I refuse to upgrade my firmware.
Wii U - it was all digital until I recently decided to go physical. Bought Pikmin 3, Ducktales and Luigi U disc versions and going to start buying up more physical games.

% 100 physical (when I have the option). I am too picky of a gamer to buy digital -- if I get bored of, or simply don't like a game I buy, I can usually recoup 3/4 of the cost by selling/trading it. Digital purchases always leave me with regret, unless it's a REDICULOUS sale, no way.

We dont know when ms or sony are quitting their services hence my whole library could become unavailable.
And i have a bad internet connection since i live in the dorm, so there is no point in using a subscription for psn/xbl (550kb/s, 2 years ago in my flat, i had 12mb/s so what a step back :/ )
i often hear this, but once psn/xbl are established, and once the publishers are interested in their legal issues, this will become an issue... i try to buy rarely cheap stuff from my us psn, because of that fear...

I never sell my games, I enjoy collecting them.
100% digital for PC. Love Steam. Always hated having to swap and keep track of installation discs.
Digital on console is pretty awful though, with few good sales, and with Sony, MS, and Nintendo having all demonstrated that they don't respect their customers' investment in digital purchases last gen, with none of the current gen consoles being backwards compatible with those digital libraries (Wii U being the closest if you migrate your account and relaunch in Wii mode, which is still an unacceptable number of hurdles to jump through in 2015).
So I only buy the occasional console game on digital when it goes on sale, or on 3DS where it's handy not having to carry a bunch of cartridges with me.

This generation has completely turned me to the Dark Side of digital on consoles, especially the sales on XBL which are approaching (almost) Steam-like prices at times.
But even at full-price, the convenience of switching between games on the fly feels so fucking good it's hard not go full digital.

99% digital , wii u and 3ds games are still brought physically cause Nintendo live in the dark age of storage space
GAF has a sort of weird personality when it comes to digital purchases, you have those who desperately shove their credit card into steam the moment there's -15% off some random shovelware PC game but when Nintendo tries to sell them anything on the eShop it's like >Boo!! >Too high price >Snake water >Fire Iwata
Even though Nintendo actually sells you a full digital game where as Steam sells you a licence.
For me my 3DS is 100% digital now. No more physical carts ever again I think. If I had a Vita it would totes be digital only (memory card aside).

I am 100% digital on all of my current gen consoles (Wii U, 3DS, Vita).
Nintendo actually made the right call as far as storage space goes this gen. They ship with the bare minimum to keep cost down, but are compatible with the cheapest, easiest, most universal 3rd party storage solutions on the market. They're still behind with the account system, but the Nintendo Network isn't as draconian as some people make it out to be, and I'm assuming that part of the reason why DeNA was brought in was to fix what needed to be fixed.
Vita desperately needs a better storage solution, but still, it's a handheld and it's so much more convenient to just take the thing and put it in my bag when I go out without having to worry about the games.

I'm going 100% digital on my Vita, but my 3DS, PS3, and 360 are digital/physical for pricing reasons. :/

No need for that, really. I'm mostly a US consumer when it comes to PSN. And then it's just being a good consumer at Amazon buying PSN Cards. Steam is nice with offering good discounts. I seldom play games day 1, mostly due to what I consider steep prices but also because I have little to no time to actually dedicate to gaming these days.

Digital only, can't be arsed going to buy games or get them delivered, have a 240Mb connection at home which helps! I have a ton of physical games from older generations gathering dust which I couldn't even be bothered to give away for free.

95% of my games are physical because here in the UK, the cunt publishers like to over-price their games digitally.
Plus there's resale value and I'm able to let my friends borrow my games.

Nintendo is an exception. I never, ever buy digital from them, and I never will so long as they continue their archaic anti-consumer digital policies. However, their Wii U boxart has been consistently beautiful, so I'd probably buy physical anyway even if they finally managed to enter the 21st century. I really like having their games decorating my shelf.

Like many good GAFfers I am mostly digital on PC. There are some rare times where I decide to get a physical copy in case the cheaper price from a retail store but otherwise I'll just keep everything in my Steam library. During the bigger sales is the time where going digital on PC makes the best value for your money and beats even a good deal at any retail store I usually go.
On the consoles I tend to go physical as there is usually no price difference on the release day and in some cases available free space can be an issue (specially on my portables) so physical is the logical choice for me. While I do like to have a clean minimalist setup I admit I still like to have a couple of physical cases even if they are not on display. Since it's only a library focused on the current gen there is a nice consistency while having them all organized in a neat place.
