So who is waiting it out for the Dark Souls 2 PC version?

As your 2014 RPG thread proves, this isn't just some flimsy excuse. Last year there's no way I would have felt anything close to relief at a Dark Souls 2 delay. At the moment, it's a slight annoyance at worst.

I heard Paper Sorcerer was a Wizardry 4 homage (meaning you play as the villain!), so I threw that on the ever-growing pile as well. And for some boneheaded reason I decided to go through the Divinity games again before Original Sin.

By the time 2015 rolls around I'll probably only be able to tolerate indie non-games where you wander around not interacting with anything.
That's incredibly bad timing :P

And yeah, Paper Sorcerer looks interesting as well. But currently I'm really engrossed in Shadowrun Dragonfall (in the grand tradition of good CRPGs (BG, NWN2, IWD, etc.) the expansion is better than the base game).

Alright guys, the real challenge begins now. Let's give each other moral support while we wait this out! And stay the hell out of the OT, looks like spoilers are going around.

Hearing about framerate issues on PS3 is making the wait easier, not sure how it is on Xbox.

I would never in a bamillion years go back to the console version of this game after playing at 1080p @ 60fps. It's not even the same game.

Hopefully we get at least some of those lighting effects back as a reward for waiting. That's a large part of why DS2 looked sooo goood.
At least we'll still have cloth physics eh?

Music to my ears...I've only played Dark Souls on PS3, so playing Dark Souls 2 on my PC is gonna be quite a treat.

I'm kinda done with 360/PS3/Wii now so I'm waiting for PC version or even XBO version if that happens.

My resolve is faltering. I could just ... stop at Best Buy on my way home. And I could be playing it tonight and not on April 25th.

I really should wait though.

I am waiting for the PC version. I would be very surprised if it included the pre-release version lighting effects, but at least we will have 1080p, SGSSAA, and 60hz (or even 120hz?!?)

I will be, got Titanfall coming out in three days and I haven't even 100%'d stick of truth yet. Also have a massive backlog on my 3DS. The end of may is a perfect release for me.

I could easily wait it out. I started playing Dark Souls on the PC.

I don't know if asshole invaders will be more numerous in April (corrected) compared to right now, when they know all the ins and outs, and since it's all online I am a bit worried. But if someone convinces me that's not the case, then I can just focus on other games like my backlog.

It feels like I've been impaled and left on a spear to slowly die for the month but, yes, I am waiting for the PC version. I will happily lord the improvements over the console players in revenge for the extra month lead they've been granted.

I've joined the line for the PS4 version.

It's very depressing. Everyone is standing around waiting for something that may not happen. Might as well get in line for true love.

For real though, Dark Souls 1 was a much better experience on the PC. A game like this gains so much from a solid 60 FPS and higher resolutions that it is absolutely worth the wait. The worst part for me is having to avoid Vageta311's youtube channel till the end of April.

My secret weapon has been holding off on playing The Last of Us until now, I will get my hands on it either today or tomorrow.

I triple dipped on DS, will double dip on DS2. Why wait? I played through Dark Souls 1 over a dozen times and I'm sure I'll do the same here. Once or twice on PS3 and then abandon it for the PC version once that comes out. This is absolutely not a one-and-done game.

I'm really curious as to how many PC players will be going in fresh vs how many will be double dipping. Anybody know the general trends of high-profile delayed PC releases like this?

It would be nice to hear confirmation that the downgrade is not being transferred to the PC version.

Don't expect anything soon. If the PC version looks like the old press footage, they'll have to keep it under wraps a bit longer. It would explain the delay.

Can't wait for the PC version. Not for lighting effects, resolution or framerate.. but for the fucking load times. It's definitely the most frustrating on your first run where you die a lot, but the loading is even more frequent than DS1 (loading between areas for example)

I think spending too much time on GAF can skew your perception about that. I think for something like Dark Souls, the majority of the PC sales are first time players.

I am waiting.

This is the first time I haven't bought one of these games on day one.

I'm waiting. After reading about the fps dips on PS3, and lack of vsync on 360, it's worth the wait. 1080p60 with 16x AF and vsync is worth waiting for.

That would be great. It also helps that DS2 is bigger, so it'll take more time for stuff to be figured out anyway.

I have decided to double dip, I simply can't wait. It should also give me an edge in PVP for the PC version later.

The lighting downgrades are annoying, but I know that the gameplay will make up for it.

All we gotta do it make it through this first week of hype, and then it will get easier.

Actually all the news of the lighting downgrades and the shitty framerates and vsync issues have made it a bit easier for me to hold out and I'm a huge, huge Dark Souls fan.

I can wait five weeks for a far better version.

It's like waiting for Red Dead Redemption on PC, or The Last Guardian on PS3!

With just a month of delay, there will be very very few double-dippers. Like, if I had to guess, they'll be in the hundreds among the tens of thousands of players in the first weeks.

It's different when it's a year-late port or something.

Why haven't they shown any footage of the PC version? It would be nice if they did that before the game releases on the 25th.

Maybe they have and just never said? Some of the footage that was shown earlier definitely looks better than PS3/360 retail so maybe that is the PC version?

Nice, this waiting is getting easier and easier.

So I was gonna wait... then I realized the PC version was coming out an entire eternity and a 1/2 after the console versions... then I read about the framerate on consoles... ;_;

I can wait.

I'll buy the PC version when it's cheap down the line, especially now that I got a new graphics card, but I'm not about to wait 6 weeks to play another souls game, ya'll is crazy

Hey, if you don't get your version you'll at least have a super cheap PC version to pick up when you get sick of waiting.
