PS Vita will have better software if it doesn't bomb. The God of War PSP games were better than anything on the DS short of just Pokemon, which is all the DS is good for to me when it comes to first party.

I currently have the First Edition bundle pre-ordered with the idea of selling it if it ends up being collectable but also being perfectly fine with keeping it if turns out to not be worth much more than I paid for it. I'm already leaning towards trading in my 3DS once I tire of Mario Kart 7 but I also might just cancel my Vita pre-order as well. I really don't see anything I'm interested in the launch window and don't want to get ambassadored again.

Sure we had that. They were mostly before launch and after the DS started breaking away.

I listened to the entire 4 hour 8-4 Play Vita launch cast, I've read all the threads... I am really conflicted about buying one. On the one hand, it looks like a glorious piece of technology. The touchscreens, the OLED display, 3G, the whole package screams potential. But I look at that list of launch titles and I'm just totally unmoved. I'm dying for an excuse to buy one at launch because I want it to do well and put up big numbers so developers jump in with both feet. I felt like this about the 3DS, too, but even more so for the Vita given it's such a tech showcase.

Ok so i'll just post the question here and see where it gets me. I've been wanting a Vita since it was announced, and i'll be more than likely interested in picking one up when it's released. However i'm not going to lie in saying that these new reports on Vitas success (or maybe lack of) are alittle troubling to hear. I was not really expecting it to do gangbusters mind you, just based on the amount of competition out there in the market place with portable devices, but there seems to be quite a bit of doom out there about it right now.

I'm curious what (unbiased) gaffers are thinking about the Vitas possible staying power. Alot of the games I would buy at launch are PSP games like Tactics Orge, or not out yet like Dragons Crown, and Persona 4 portable, and Disgaea 3. I was also considering waiting until I could import a colored version, as I only need Wi-fi so the 3g stuff is useless to me anyway. So would it be more prudent that I sit on it and wait to see what happens? To those of you that jumped on the Japanese launch, are you happy with your purchase?

It will have staying power. It's too early to predict because the games haven't been announced yet(besides launch window games i mean)
