What in particular makes him suited to be the Joker? It seemed he's just acting out his skit with mediocrity. You know who else could do that? Almost every other actor on the planet.

Not saying the dude can't be him but you're not making a convincing argument for why when all he's doing is acting (which every actor does). It's like saying, "Oh my god! This dude should be play Abe Lincoln because look at him acting!"

This thread just spells out how few people actually warch the Eric Andre Show. Be cause when it comes to portraying madness on screen, he's in a league of his own. There's some seriously dark shit there, moments where it actually seems like he's lost his mind completely. Followed by shifts into downright whimsy without skipping a beat.

But ultimately it just boils down to people having this weird belief that Joker and Batman are difficult roles to play, like it's Macbeth or something. And ignoring that while Ledger put himself through Hell for it, Nicholson and Romero just showed up and acted.

The role doesn't demand an Oscar worthy thespian. And there's nothing intrinsically in the character Eric Andre would be unable to pull off.

I was going to post that here when I saw the preview! Then I forgot to.

Either way, glad to see this casting, but it looks like they took the Nicholson route. I think a unique take more similar to a more manic version of Ledger would be the best route for a genuine Andre Joker.
