So With Tom Brady Winning His Fifth Super Bowl....

It's times like this I'm glad to be living in Massachusetts. Brady might be kind of a moron but there is no denying he is pretty damn good at his job.

Haters gonna stay hating.

Yeah, I believed he was before he won this 5th one, but now there is no doubt.

And for everyone who complain about his political affiliation or leanings just remember that pretty much all the great (white) Quarterbacks throughout NFL history whether John Elway, Joe Montana, Steve Young, Brett Favre, Peyton Manning...are conservative or Republican.

Generally up here in Boston people are very mixed on it - we still cheer for him and the Pats, but people are sorta like "Well I might buy a Patriots jersey, just not one with Brady on it". Not boycotting the entire team because of it. Him and Belichek are aware enough to know that big outward Trump support wouldn't fly up here, so for the most part both kept it fairly on the down low. It's not like Brady campaigned for Trump, or even made a real endorsement of him, and Trump got thwomped in New England, so as our sports hero/crush people just let it go as not something worth dwelling on.

I know some NFL teams had some internal strife over Trump support, don't know how that played out on the Patriots.

Also what's great about this? No pro bowl receivers, not one. I remember a prominent NFL poster saying the order of importance was 1. Gronk 2. Edelman 3. Brady. Lol k Brady haters do the most insane mental gymnastics.

Brady supporters love mental gymnastics too, like thinking supporting Brady is not supporting Trump.

It's great to live in Massachusetts as long as you're white.

While I know one racist up here personally, and have met in passing a few others, I've never known a person (white or not white) who lived in MA that didn't think MA was a great place to live.

Our racists up here tend to be the quiet simmering type who just mutter under their breath and are vastly outnumbered by decent folk.

I'd be really interested to know what Brady (and Kraft and Belichick) has said to his teammates on the Trump front. Patriots are infamous for their 'Do your job' mentality, so it may be that the players are able to shove that all aside.

Lmao sure. Matt Ryan the evangelical Christian is so far left I'm sure.

Edit-

Green bay, Pittsburgh, Atlanta, and new england were the final 4. Which one is the blue state?

GOAT.

Sustained, distilled excellence. No running game? No Gronk? Against arguably the best defense in the game today?

Casually throws for 466 yards on 62 passes.

HOLD THE FUCKIN L, HATERS.

Tom is undeniably the GOAT, but Atlanta isn't even the best defense the Pats played in the playoffs.

My experience has been different. I'm surrounded by Brazilians and we still love Brady 100%. For clarity, I live in Boston as well

Do you love Trump or what?

3/4ths of QBs in the league are evangelical... If you re a fan of football you're fooling yourself if you think there aren't Trump voters on that team. Also voted clinton, wanted Bernie. That being said the Trump supporter accusations of gaf have become HILARIOUS. Everybody apparently supports trump

Olympic gold levels of mental gymnastics here.

Belichik don't win shit without Brady.

Let me make that perfectly clear.

Brady is carrying Belichik, Kraft and the rest of the team on his fucking back.

You guys act like the majority of the players you support aren't scumbags are hilarious.

Seahawks fans support women beating. Steelers fans support rapists. Falcons fans support dog fighting. Great argument guys.

I understand why some fans feel that way but pretty much all the great (white) Quarterbacks are Republican/Conservative. Whether it's Brett Favre donated large sums of money to the GOP or John Elway campaigning for Mitt Romney, most of the all time great (white) QBs lean right.

It doesn't take away from the greatness of what Tom Brady has done and accomplished throughout his NFL career IMO.

Begrudgingly, you can't really refute the rings argument. Just this comeback alone puts him at the top. It's unprecedented. And that Pats team could easily reel off more SB wins before Brady's done too.

It's gonna be close to impossible for any team/QB to match what what patriots have done over the past few decades.

Dan marino is the best qb to never win a ring

Lets be real for a monent, even if we all collectively agree that 5-2 > 4-0 Brady and the Pats dynasty will always have an * between deflate and spy gates. Its on their resume and will never go away. If you're willing to look past it and say they would have gone 5-2 even if they hadn't been caught fine, but if I have to split the difference 1 extra win doesn't offset the 2 loses and caught cheating twice. Its why montana will always be the goat for me.

New England had a camera man stand in the wrong place and used footballs that obey the laws of physics. While Joe Montana was with the 49ers Jerry Rice was cheating using Stickum while offensive linemen snuck illegal substances onto their jerseys. Here's some **** for the Niners.
