Hah! I actually live in San Francisco. I used to take public transit to work 5 days a week, and I walk a lot and get to hear all sorts of crazy ringtones. Now that I think about it, it's kind of amazing that I haven't heard it before.

My text alert is the "!" which lots of people tell me is annoying (those who don't understand it). My phone for the longest time (3-4 years) has been codec sound from MGS2. I edited it a little to get it sounding perfect.

I love it because in public it sounds like a regular phone ringing unless your a teen who would recognize it's from MGS.

Other favorites I've used temporarly were the office ring from 24 and the ring on Tony Soprano's Razr (which my dad uses now on his new blackberry).

My alarm wake up for when I sleep at a friends is the punchout theme. And another I use less frequently is the original bionic commando. What makes that funny was my friend was watching the rearmed trailer and I hadn't heard about it yet. I wasn't watching the video but heard the theme song and went nuts blasting the one on my phone.

I have a live rock band cover of Go K.K. Rider as my tone. Not even a big animal crossing fan, but what a tune.

I don't think I could ever have the FF victory music or the mario theme or something as my ringtone. I like the ambiguity KK Rider gives me, those that recognise give the geek nod, others just think it's some rock song.

I use the Megaman 2 Doctor Wily Stage 1 theme for my ringtone. I used the phone's composer to make it, so it sounds more like a ringtone.

At some point I'm going to put the GTA4's version of the GTA1's theme song ring tone on my phone (I think it's called "Pager" in game).

Hey, so if your iPhone is jailbroken, there's actually an MGS sound pack that puts the codec on SMS, "!" on new e-mails, and the lock/unlock sounds are going to/from the MGS1 codec screen.

I also have the codec sound as my ringer, I like it because I can have it on at work and its not loud and obnoxious. If you have the program BitPim you can use it to really easily make ringers out of any mp3 file. I have not, nor will I ever buy a ringer.
