Some info about Final Fantasy XV / Forum Q&A

New demo is welcomed, I cant wait to get hit by a car again,so I can explore a new boss :)

New demo should be at the Insomnia government building, in which case if we do manage to glitch out of any barriers then we could possibly see how large that city is.

They'll probably make sure you can't glitch out of the area this time.

Considering the nature of glitches I'm not sure that's possible, but I get your point. Esp since it's HIGHLY unlikely that even if you could glitch out of the playable area, the rest of the city probably wouldn't have hitboxes and would be like a diorama type setup rather than fully modelled + designed stuff.

Still wonder if thats some kinda glitch or a actual thing.

But I think it is considering you can find Titan in the demo.

It's a thing for sure. They specifically designed it as a parameter that can be dynamically animated. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XldiYKWRkuw

This seems like the sort of thing that will slowly happen over time Majora's Mask style.

Basically the deal with the demo is that there is a massive post processing volume covering the whole map that determines many settings such as haziness, cloud cover, moon size, etc. When you go far enough, you can exit that volume and FFXV has the ability to dynamically blend with other post processing settings(which is why the moon doesn't instantly pop into being red when you exit the volume). The ones we see on the outside (including the red moon) are the default post processing settings.

Here's what it looks like during the day. https://youtu.be/Vl-xkScsTxo
As you can see it's very similar to newer shots of FFXV like from the driving video.

I think it's real, they already talked about how nights will get longer as you progress, can see a red moon being the last "oh shit apocalypse is about to happen" phase.

Kinda like Bloodborne where you go
Dusk > Night > Nightmare

Bug testing a game like this must be a massive pain in the butt.

Thankfully it's a japanese games, they're so much more polished than western ones imho

Nothing new, nice to have the option for blood, although a Rating-DLC seems too much.
Also, i hope people don't blame Tabata for the difference in this thing, it's something that would have happened anyway.

Just have a code that unlocks the option for blood simple as that, MK got away with it :P

Must be the
"Plague of the Stars" that Luna is trying to prevent. Wonder what causes it probably something happens to the Lucian Crystal
.

Very interesting and same ava as your youtube account.

To be honest I'll be mildly astonished if it isn't one of SE's worst games for bugs, considering it's sort of what people imagined XIII would be in that it's a large-scale game in HD with towns and a large world etc. So many countless variables where things could go wrong.

after rewatching the old versus Trailers

is that altissia in the background?

and maybe they were on their way to altissia when the street ended

Doesn't matter - but still surprised to see it in the old versus trailers if it really is that city

Don't think you can drive to Altissia. The 2013 trailer showed no roads for automobiles.

Bug testing in genereal is a pain judging by some stories I've heard and just based on this Kotaku article.

I just hope we don't get a messy game release like The Witcher 3 which is still receiving like 18GB patches 7-8 months after release.

Not to mention that the whole "Red Moon" thing seems to be a thing that finds itself appearing in many FF games(FFIV, FFVIII, FFIX, FFXIV). All have some dire significance to events/things in those worlds. If FFXV's moon shows a similar significance, toss that one on top of the pile.

I'm honestly hype for this game. I know it had a long and turbulent dev cycle. I know it's easy to shit on this game, but the news they are giving us...I really hope when March rolls around they really knock it out of the park.

Fun fact about Altissia:

Nomura was inspired to create Altissia from his 2004/2005 visits to Venice when he attended the Venice Film festival to show off a 24 minute preview cut of Advent Children.

Haha, man, Noctis and Prompto really were ugly as hell in those early Versus trailer. Glad they were redesigned.

For Noctis and Prompto I prefer the new designs.

For Gladiolus I like them both almost equally, but I lean towards the old design more.

For Ignis the old design was better, in my opinion. I really don't like the purple leopard shirt and the gloves...

EDIT: I found this pretty cool fan art and well, just wanted to share. :D

This is an old interview in German but I don't recall this info ever getting translated or reported.

Tabata wants a car racing mini-game like Outrun. And XV developers also want to include a battle arena like in FFVII, but it will depend on if there was enough demand since it would be a lot of work.

All I got are google translations but if anyone who knows German wouldn't mind officially translating some bits, much appreciated.

^I really hope there's a lot of mini games. I feel like an open world just isn't right without a bunch of different things to do, it's why I love GTA games so much but not most other open world games.

Car racing, chocobo racing, and fishing sound good. Hope there's other cool things.

As for fighting arena, that'd be awesome. I hope it's at a coliseum like stadium in Altissia.

I wouldn't worry to much, they are already in the debug/polishing stage for like two months in 2015 and have around 8 months left in 2016. While a long and frustrating process many strides can be made in a short time like with The Last of Us.

SE wants this title to succeed they don't want to rush out a title and experience the problems Unity did. I expect to be about as polished as a game like this can.

I don't care about car racing, but c'mon how could they leave out something like a battle arena. I really like how FFVI and FFVII did them, one which combines some form of bidding and gamble, and the other too has the element of risk vs reward.

I would love something like the Golden Saucer in FFXV.

No matter how bored I became while playing FFVII - I always visited the Golden Saucer to play G-Bike and race my Chocobos.

It's like the situation with The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess - Eiji Aonuma kept saying how he really wanted to top The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time - but in the end, he didn't. Not by my estimation. I enjoyed the game, but the second half felt rushed and the final dungeon being
Hyrule Castle
left me feeling let-down and I could see that they ran out of development time to truly flesh out a final dungeon worthy of topping TLOZ:OOT's final dungeon.

Aonuma had all the feedback, experience, team and tools to do so - but for some reason, he couldn't top the greatest Zelda made to date. It must haunt him.

Why is that?

Hajime Tabata has the same opportunity to do the same thing with FFXV - he could top FFVII if he plays his cards right.

It remains to be seen if he and his team can accomplish such a Herculean task, but he simply has to be aware of what he needs to do to accomplish that endeavor.

Here is how I see it:

As long as the game has a killer narrative, tons of side quests and mini-games [a Golden Saucer-like place to go would be so, so incredibly awesome and nostalgic], a memorable villain with charisma, charm and a malevolent evil side that tops/equals both Sephiroth and Kefka, huge, memorable cities, incredible set-pieces and set-piece battles, a cast of characters that has to not only be relatable, but also likable and legendary, the soundtrack has to be jaw-droppingly-amazing and be moving as well as spot-on for the action bits and finally, the story/ending has to be memorable and lasting - to the point of wanting to replay it from time to time just to soak it all back in.

If Tabata and Co. can accomplish all that - then they have done what Aonuma and Co. failed to do in my eyes.
